Trust me, I will tell my child to desist from fornication,Pornography and even masturbation but if he ever finds himself enmeshed in a strong sexual passion ,he should find a way to ease off(masturbate) rather than commit fornication and also warn him to know the limit to avoid addiction. PERIOD.

Masturbation has prevented billions from commuting the real sinful act of fornication so why not say the truth about the matter rather than lie and enslave people to bottle up passion which of course in the long run will likely burst out and they end up raping,molesting or fornicating.

Masturbation can be likened to a bad habit if unchecked but not a sin.

Jesus made it clear that visual sexual thought is sinful but can you prove from the bible that sexual thought without any visual act is a sin?

The bible encourages and advice's us to guard our hearts with all diligence but sexual feeling is not the same like wanting to smoke, drink or any other type of feelings but it is who we are and even someone who have been secluded all his or her life will at a stage in life touch some parts of the body and feel aroused even without ever seeing the opposite sex.

Why are we humans so complicated that we enslave ourselves with self imposed philosophical doctrines of men?

The bible says "Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death." James 1:14-15

The truth is that sexual thoughts for the unmarried is like temptation and this can give birth to sinful actions which of course is fornication.

The question is when this thought comes does it mean you have sinned? No

Now the bone of contention is if you touch yourself and in the process you ease out(masturbate) the urge to fornicate shall we say you have sinned?

This is the confusion. My point is that masturbation or self sex as some call it was never mentioned as a sin and fornication which WS vividly mentioned involves two people in fact the bible listed so many other sexually immoral act like same sex, incest,animal and human and many more so shall we say God made a mistake by not saying "do not have sexual pleasure with yourself ? oh maybe he forgot I guess.

Why did God even make it possible for us to please ourselves sexually?

Your very first comment on this thread says it is misleading because we have very weak internet users who may see it but then I ask...how many believers out there do fornicate steadily due to sexual urge?

I have many lady friends who have told me how stroking themselves have helped them keep off from fornication.

Now if there is one thing I have learned on this thread its the fact that many people agreed that masturbation is not fornication but uncleanliness by their understanding though

So if indeed it is unclean habit shall we call it sin? NO

So the bottom line is that given the options of fornicating, masturbating and bottling sexual urge, I'm happy that those weak internet users will now have a better option than fornicating if they can not bottle it up.

Whether it is a sin or nor, the fact remains that till date we have only been able to give it human meaning as the bible is totally silent about it so to that person who feels bad about it, keep off but if your conscience does not judge you then it is left to you.

In America the pastors have more sexual sins to preach against but in Nigeria I guess our religious nature still sees an innocuous act such as self servicing as a sin even for fully grown men and women who ought to be parents but are still single due to several factors.

I'm amazed you just quoted Mary as a prototype of a sexually chaste lady who had herself under check.

I don't know but Mary should probably be in her very young age when she had divine conception.

I never knew anything about sex perse until I was 25 and my point is simple.

You don't expect a 25 year old with a high sex drive to continue to keep the passion infinitely cos he or she does not know when marriage bells will ring and that's why we have high rate of fornication as well as other sexual immoralities.

Even paul knew thre will be some people with self control who can remain unmarried and he said they can be but for those who can't control themselves, let them marry.

Unfortunately we live in a world where you just don't pick a spouse from the street and marry yet natural sexual urge is independent of your marital status and this is my point.

Sexual thought is never ever a sin and in fact lustful thought is not a sin except if it is aided by visual object.

It is when you allow the sexual thought drive you to commit a sin that it becomes a sin and what is sin? sexual immoralities and I have quoted a bible passage that listed all sexually immoral act in page 1 or 2 I guess and God is too perfect to have vomited self sex.

For those who can keep their body under control please go on as the lord is your strength.

For those who have high sex drive please avoid fornication at all cost and ease out if you can't subdue the passion.

The bottom line is that masturbation can be addictive if you allow it to take control of you just like any other habit like eating, Sleeping,talking ,watching TV playing video games and son on...these acts are not sinful but can destroy your life if unchecked.
