Tell me why the Church calls Jesus of Nazareth, a 1st century Jewish Carpenter, God?

Tell me what difference there is between that and calling Guru Maharaji God?

Why do churches that are supposed to be exemplary and of high moral standards find it convinient to twist scriptures and mis-represent facts when it comes to the issue of money.
