Fulani Herdsmen Flee Enugu Over Fears Of Reprisal Of Their Atrocities. by rawglobalnews: 9:24am On Aug 27, 2016
Indications have emerged that cattle rearers are fleeing Enugu State over fears of a reprisal after a Catholic seminarian was killed during the invasion of Attakwu community by armed herdsmen on Thursday.

The seminarian, identified as Lazarus Nwafor, was butchered during the early morning attack on the community, which is located in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The trainee-Catholic priest was from Orlu, Imo State, and it was learnt that he had just returned to the community on Wednesday following a visit to his parents.

Four others sustained severe injuries and are currently in critical condition in a hospital receiving treatment.

The latest incident comes exactly four months after several persons were killed when another Enugu community – Ukpabi Nimbo – was attacked by herdsmen on April 25.

Before Thursday’s attack, it was learnt that the people of Attakwu have been having problems with herdsmen in the community over the destruction of crops in their farmlands.

Herdsmen operating in the area reside in a Fulani settlement situated at a valley in the community.

However, findings by our correspondent on Friday revealed that the herdsmen have deserted the settlement.

Sources in the community disclosed that the herdsmen fled before reports of the attack went round early on Thursday morning.

Irate youths, who rushed to the valley on a vengeance mission, met a deserted settlement.

What sort of cannibalism is this??

Those sub humans only fled and will surely come back to wreck more havoc.

Why don't that weak governor and those useless lawmakers do the right thing for once and damn the consequences...

As a matter of urgency. ,enugu state government should pass law against grazing in that state. ..

we are not in stone age for Pete's sake .. damn!!
