Compliments of the season. Please what course can someone who has B.Sc in Political Science do at Master's level to be positioned for a better career in the Western Countries like say Canada? I have someone who wants to take advantage of the Tuition Fee to pursue a Master Degree in Germany so as to acquire requisite knowledge to relocate to Canny. I need advice from the house especially those who got experience of Canada and its work outlay for Liberal Arts Professions. Gracias |

Good day everyone! Im new to naira land and ive been reading through this thread. i will like to state my situation below and i will appreciate if anyone can reply and advise me accordingly. Thank you verybmuch. I am a 31yrs old married woman with two kids, i studied law in unilag and graduated in 2007, I was called to bar in 2009, i served and practised as a lawyer from 2009-2013. I have always been a lover of the arts in every form (infact my choice of study in university would have been creative arts but i guess we know how the story goes) While in school i gravitated towards the arts, i had a short training as a makeup artist and have never looked back. In 2011 i traveled tp the US and took a short diploma course in beauty, high fashion and character makeup at Cinema Makeup School Hollywood LA. I came back and joggled practise as a lawyer week days and makeup artistry during the weekends. After building a good client base,in 2013 i made the decision to follow my makeup passion full time, i registered my business and opened up a studio and ive never looked back. I now want to expand my makeup business to include an international standard spa and so i decided to take a diploma course in esthetician and spa management at Humber College which is 2yrs long(i have been offered an admission already) My husband will be sponsoring me and his SOA is sufficient enough to cover my tuition, living expense and also cater for himself and my kids in Nigeria as they dont intend to come with me. I am still at the stage of gathering information that will help my Study Visa Application. So i will like to know if i have a good chance for an approval considering the fact that i studied and practised law for some time but also not forgetting that i acquired proper training for makeup artistry at an international institution and presently running my business in the same field. i will really appreciate if some can give me advise on if my profile is strong enough to convince a VO to approve a study permit. Thank you very much. |

[quote author=Ifyemekaonwuka post=53702341] I am a 31yrs old married woman with two kids, i studied law in unilag and graduated in 2007, I was called to bar in 2009, i served and practised as a lawyer from 2009-2013. I have always been a lover of the arts in every form (infact my choice of study in university would have been creative arts but i guess we know how the story goes) While in school i gravitated towards the arts, i had a short training as a makeup artist and have never looked back. After building a good client base,in 2013 i made the decision to follow my makeup passion full time, i registered my business and opened up a studio and ive never looked back.I believe the above quote sound quite convincing if it can form part of your S.O.P. as that will take care of the "purpose of visit". Also, according to your statement (bolded) you've justified (in-sufficient fund). Please note that your husband will have to provide a very solid statement of account, not because of your study duration (2years, tuition, living, accomodation, miscellaneous. ..) and also considering the dependants (two kids and himself ). I am still at the stage of gathering information that will help my Study Visa Application. So i will like to know if i have a good chance for an approval considering the fact that i studied and practised law for some time but also not forgetting that i acquired proper training for makeup artistry at an international institution and presently running my business in the same field. And lastly, with your husband and two kids with your registered bussiness, i believe you've justified the family ties in country of residence. Travel history----- your initial course in the U.S.A has taken care of travel history and the passion you have for make-up and whatever to make you gi for such course in the united state has justify why you want to change your study plan from your undergraduate course of study. Any other input from other gurus will be fine. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Hello Guru, I am at the point of combining my document for online application route and have compressed all my documents and taken out the irrelevant ones. But the size is still larger than 4mb as they specified on CIC. Please I just have some few questions. As anyone ever uploaded a document above 4mb in the Proof of Means of Financial Support (required) and Letter of Explanation section? If my documents are above 4mb, can I cut and upload into other sections like (Proof of medical exam (required), Letter of Acceptance (required)) section where the file I want to upload there is small and explain in my latter of explanation? After all compression, my file is 9mb, and if I compress again, they won’t see anything again. Please I need help and guidance and I don’t want to compress to the level where I won’t even be able to read the document again. Thanks |

uchevolata:I'm guessing the documents you uploaded are your O'level results. They'd ask for WAEC/NECO scratch cards to confirm your results then convert your grades to percentage because they don't use the (A, B, C). After then, it'd be updated on ur student portal. C4 is 70%. |

Ifyemekaonwuka:@Penitential has given you a good advise. You will have a good chance if you do a good job communicating all you pointed out to the VO. Expantiate further on your passion, achievements and how it is going to help you actualize your desirables in your makeup business. Also, having had a degree in law and some years of experience, it couldn't have been that you indulged in that without some level of passion no matter how little or big it was at the time. So you may also want to make some point off that alittle and how sucessful you have been in it when you were actively involved and that even with all your sucesses, you still found time to develop your makeup aspiration and now reality.Do not leave it out completely, this way, you make yourself indispensable in your endeavours, a strong and viable character that will also succeed in the field you are seeking a study permit to pursue. Remember, they will be treating you as a potential permenant immigrant and possible citizen, they will look out for your values, personality, and most importantly, what you will be bringing to their country. So your chances will boil down to how articulating you presented yourself through your SOP. About your sponsorship, Before you apply, he can transfer a good amount into your personal account. Make reference to the transfer in his letter of sponsorship and what it is for. Also, hope your husband income will also cater for everbody plus your study aside the available funds. 2 Likes 1 Share |
