Kai see as they dissed Obama, Michelle and Oprah all at the same time but seriously I thought their pitches were too emotional, the rest of the world does not care about what your father would've liked to see or that America needs to repair her image etc - I thought that was weak. They could've done so much better than that

Seriously, the emotional play was pretty pathetic and desperate. I'm glad Rio got it, and besides what was Oprah doing there anyway, this woman is ignorant and out of touch of what goes on in the world.

and I felt it wasnt the best and that it should have gone to Athens (particularly since it was the centennial edition).
I have always wondered at the conspiracy and politics involved, as both Athens and Beijing won the hosting rights 8yrs after they had come a controversial second.

I couldn't believe that was the sales pitch they chose to use . . . very bad idea. The world does not care about sentiments, especially personal sentiments that have no practical bearing on the issue at hand. I mean RIP Michelle's dad but what does that have to do with anything?
