The painful thing is that when Nigeria's IT minister fails to perform at the end of the day because of incompetence and mediocrity the government of the day will blame the Jonathan regime for the lack of performance.

There has not been any IT policy since the government came to office. The only achievement seems to be the MTN fine and the visit of Mark Zuckerberg, yet the government will blame Jonathan for their lack of performance.

As for the reason why Nairobi is an IT hub for most tech companies like google and co, it all boils down to geographically location of Kenya.

Kenya IT picked up when most of these American IT companies located their African operational Hq base there. And they chose Kenya for a myriad of reasons such as friendly and accommodative Enviroment to do business and what not. But their main reason was because of Kenya's time zone.

Kenya is located just about right to pick up information from both the middle east and far east. It can receive continuous stream of data from both polar and geostationary satellites.


Kenya operation was basically the same as what they have in England - a listening post to pick up on their eavesdropping.

A lot of CIA recon and data spying is controlled remotely from Kenya with targets such as Sudan, Iran and the entire middle east .

In an estate in Nairobi where l lived, the big supermarket there had an app from where l shop when l do not feel like going there myself. What l ordered for were delivered to my place by one of their dispatch guys, he comes with the receipt and l confirm it tallies with what was brought. I then send money (the amount on the receipt) to the Supermarket's code and get an instant confirmation sms of the payment, then forward the confirmation sms to the dispatch guy's phone and off he goes.
