PDP In Comatose, Needs Intensive Care, Says Obasanjo by kahal29: 4:41pm On Sep 03, 2016
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has described the Peoples Democratic Party, as a dying political party that is currently in comatose and needs to be taking to an intensive care unit.

He said this on Saturday at his Abeokuta Presidential Hilltop residence in an interview with journalists, after emerging from a closed-door meeting with a factional national chairman of the party, Senator Ali-Modu Sheriff, which lasted for close to one hour.

The meeting which was not unconnected with current crisis rocking the party, Obasanjo said Sheriff called him on Friday that he was coming to visit him, and he had to oblige him.

The former president explained that the factional chairman had briefed him what exactly was happening in the party.

Obasanjo, who was a former chairman of PDP’s Board of Trustees, said the party he superintended for eight years was vibrant, but currently it has lost its soul, adding that he prayed that Sheriff would not be the undertaker that would bury the party.

He noted that those who annihilated the soul of the party, were either still in the country or outside the country, feeling unperturbed about its current fate and that of the nation.

He said, “And, as they all want to say now, ‘well, you were once the father of PDP’, I was once the leader, for eight years. I was the leader of PDP but the PDP that I was the leader of is not the PDP of today.

"The PDP of today, if you can talk of a party again as PDP, its soul has been taken out of it and those who allowed that to happen are, unfortunately, either in the country or out of the country unperturbed about the fate of the party and indeed the fate of the country.

“I have said to my brother (Sheriff), that I wish him well in the dying baby they have put on his laps, because PDP is in comatose and he was of course not in the PDP, he has never been in the PDP until now.

The former president who reiterated his non-partisan stance, said he didn’t belong to any political party, Sheriff’s faction nor any other faction of the PDP.

If PDP is dying how does it affect OBJ?
Re: PDP In Comatose, Needs Intensive Care, Says Obasanjo by zikter(m): 5:06pm On Sep 03, 2016
vested interests will not allow the revival of the dying party. PDP govs especially wike and fayose should take the back sit and allow those saddled with leadership of the party to do their job.

"those who allowed that to happen are, unfortunately, either in the country or out of the country unperturbed about the fate of the party and indeed the fate of the country"

OBJ can't just resist throwing a subtle jibe at Jonathan. grin grin grin

But truly, why can't Jonathan settle the internal fight in PDP? Is he so weak even out of power that warring factions in his party still have to be trooping to an OBJ who tore his PDP membership card for solution to the crisis?

Everyone in PDP knows that Jonathan has no political clout or following. He only won the party ticket twice due to power of incumbency.

When not in power, nobody even regards him, not even the Bayelsa state chapter of the party.

Why should Jonathan care more or less? They forced him to release billions to them on the promise to deliver him a second mandate but failed while pocketing all the billions to themselves alone.

If you were treated like PDP Chieftains did to Jonathan, I bet you will certainly take a revenge since he has nothing to lose.

So you now believe that GEJ truly shared billions of Naira mostly through Dasuki to political cronies of PDP stock? shocked shocked shocked

So, all the corruption allegations from dasukigate are no longer propaganda? Funny enough, you are even claiming that he was forced to share our common patrimony to PDP members. What sort of a leader allows himself to be forced into sharing the country's resources with political cronies who will eventually end up failing him? Your admission clearly shows that GEJ is clueless and incompetent to lead the country.

The Hero of democracy; even when the topic doesn't carry ur name; they will still want to drag him into it. It really shows u r truly the greatest of all past head of states.

Zombies at the hear of his name begin to masturbate. Please what has GEJ got to do with this topic?

The more u guys always try to tarnish GEJ's name; the more u make him popular. I know his name sells more than all past head of states and even the current president. So u guys can relate him to any of topics and u will av a lot of views.

Obasanjo that tore his PDP card and has been dining with APC. Wat is now his business with PDP? All these eyeservice his doing won't make him popular again. He is already a navigator of a failed party(APC). Cos he knows APC has failed; he is now forming "non-partisan".

Make no mistake, every head of government in Nigeria be them executive, legislature or Judiciary was entitled to security votes running into billions especially Executive Governors and Presidents without exemption since 1999 to date.

If Rochas Okorocha gave up N3.5 billion out of N6.5 billion per annum accrued to him as Imo State Governor, how much do you think accrued to Jonathan in 3 years as Vice President plus 5 years as President?

This is what Buhari's government is probing which though illegitimate but legal.
