I'm a realist which means I chose my battles wisely! * Hausa-fulanis were already reading n writing, and were trading with the arabs, berbers n other non black africans before the Europeans came. No other present day Nigerian groups had this (except maybe Oyo & Kanem-bornu, which was still very minimal compared to that of the hausas). Now, am not talking about the slave trade which some southern Nigerians had with the Europeans centuries ago.

* Hausa-fulanis were the only present day Nigerians to develop a writing script (from arabic) precolonially n it is called 'Ajami'.
All other Nigerian groups relied on folklores n folktales as a means of documenting history including your Nri kingdom, Bini kingdom n my own Kwararafa kingdom.

* Hausa- fulanis occupied the largest traditional territory, (Sultanate) which even extends to present day Cameroon when the British came!
Hausa-fulanis took over Ilorin from Oyo kingdom and they rule it till date, they took over Auchi (which was a vassal of Bini kingdom). They also took over parts of Kanem-Borno & Kwararafa kingdoms n established their emirates.

* Hausa-fulanis were the only ones who rode on horsebacks (alongside the Kanem-Bornus) n travelled across n outside Africa.

I have nothing to gain from being biased against Southerners n being supportive to Hausa-fulanis, no way! This thread is so long because the Ghanians and South Africans were also involved at some point, and if there are Gambians here that thread would also be very long. This is because contrary to what many think, Nigerians love other African foreigners, and would want to discuss with them and even playfully tease some( especially the Ghanians). l'm also happy to chat with Ethiopians and Tanzanians here and even an Algerian, it is rare to find such people.
