A Nigerian student achieved the highest grades at a university in Japan for 50 years and solved a maths puzzle in his first semester that was unsolvable 30 years ago.

Ufot Ekong, who studied at Tokai University in Tokyo, achieved a first class degree in electrical engineering and scored the best marks at the university since 1965, the Flotilla Magazine reported.
He began his success early at the university, solving a 30-year-old maths equation in his first semester.

Throughout his university career Mr Ekong won six awards for academic excellence.

The mathematician worked two jobs alongside his studies to pay his way as a student.

Mr Ekong also speaks English, French, Japanese and Yoruba and won a Japanese language award for foreigners. He is currently working for Nissan and already has two patents for electronic car design to his name.

Tokai University is a prestigious private university based in the Japanese capital, which was founded in 1924. It is focused on the sciences and technology and roughly 60 per cent of all students are enrolled in these schools.

Ufot Ekong is a Nigerian who has made series of successes in Tokai University in Tokyo.

First it was reported that the young fellow made an unprecedented academic mark in the institution by solving a mathematical problem that no one in the institution was able to solve in about 30 years.

Ufot went on to produce a miniature exotic car in the tech-friendly nation.

Meet the Nigerian that smashes Russian records.


The 26-year old Ifesinachi Nelson Ezeh hails from Nsukka, Enugu State, Southeastern region of Nigeria. For graduating with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0, Russia celebrated him; noting that he is the first ever to do so.

It is in fact the highest that Russia has ever recorded.
During his graduation at the Russia’s Saint Petersburg State Agrarian University, the Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture and the school leadership recognized and commended his efforts. They complimented him greatly for his devout contribution to research and scholarship

A Nigerian Medical student for the first time ever has broken the academic record at a Russian University.

Victor Olalusi graduated from the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Russian National Research Medical University, Moscow with an uncommon 5.0 cumulative GPA.

It is believed that this is the first time in the world anyone in the institution attained this feat. In 2013, Victor Olalusi became the best graduating student in the whole of Russia.

It is incredible that an African will be the first in Russia to graduate with such excellence.

I LOVE Sinatra! Didn't know you were also a fan of his. I listen to his songs most especially on Sundays when I'm relaxed. His voice has a way of soothing me & putting me at ease.

I just laugh when they try to hog the spotlight over the Apartheid issue. Who would the world listen to, the likes of Mohammed Ali or some unknown nobody from an insignificant West African country? It also doesn't change the fact that South Africans fought the hardest because they lived & survived Apartheid. God knows it wasn't easy but we made it.
