sufferNsmiling:No Yoruba will ever despise his heritage. Though he may claim Ghanaian citizenship, Which most of them have biological and constitutional right. According to the constitution, anybody born in Ghana before the independent are automatically Ghanaian. In Ghana citizenship is not acquired by birth, it is acquire by parent or grandparents unless you are below 8 years without any traces of your parent. Such child automatically become a Ghanaian. In Ghana there a lot of lebanese and india Ghanaian.

chrisagyei: I want to hear more about your bond. I understand and approve of the thinking-finally get all your infrastructure projects done without microeconomic strain. Tbh, we should do the same. Even if you repay double after fifty years, IMO its worthwhile: trouble is too many of us are too comfortable with our poverty, a mindset even worse than corruption. Rvp2018,chip in! |

The usual suspects are yet to sign,we all know them! They will tell you that they are Pro-Africa and Pan-Africans yet they aren't! Ethiopia last week ratified the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), leaving only one more ratification for it to take effect. Twenty-two ratifications are required for the agreement to enter into force and so far 21 countries have ratified their instruments. Since the March 2018 AU Summit in Kigali when the continental pact was launched and signed by 44 states, eight more — South Africa, Sierra Leone, Lesotho, Burundi, Namibia, Guinea Bissau, Botswana and Zambia — have signed. Only Eritrea, Benin, Nigeria and Tanzania remain. To date, 15 countries — Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Niger, Chad, Congo Republic, Djibouti, Guinea, eSwatini, Mali, Mauritania, Namibia, South Africa, Uganda, Côte d’Ivoire — have deposited their instruments of AfCFTA ratification with the Chairperson of the African Union Commission. Sierra Leone, Senegal, Togo, Egypt and Zimbabwe have received parliamentary approvals for ratification. According to Stephen Karingi, director of the Regional Integration and Trade Division at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, the remaining items for discussion on the AfCFTA are competition, provisions for investment, intellectual property and e-commerce. So far the protocols on goods, services and dispute settlement have been completed and their annexes will be ready by July. “The second phase of negotiations on the remaining clauses will begin soon,” We expect that the discussions will be concluded early 2021,” said Dr Karingi. 3 Likes

sufferNsmiling:There is nothing wrong in one Nigeria as long as the regional power go back to the people just like the days of Awolowo. Every region must develop under its own initiative and philosophy alongside their respective economy while having the federal gov't as central national power. We need a united state of Nigeria ( country within a country) and not simply Nigeria. There is power in unity. |

sufferNsmiling: You seem to understand the complexities of the Nigerian entity. Go to YouTube, you'd find Yorubas defending their involvement in the Biafran war. The reason they fought in the Biafran war was cos they perceived the Igbos as arrogant folks. Where in the world, is it a crime to be cocky? People get jealous when Igbos say they're better than other Nigerians. New Yorkers and folks from Cali pride themselves as better Americans but, you don't hear other Americans going against them for that. Nigeria needs to be balkanized. It's the only place things work differently in the worst ways. 1 Like |

sufferNsmiling: Yorubas can't challenge the status quo so, they just move with it. The last time they attempted to, the outcome was disastrous, with the revolution getting crushed with a platoon of soldiers within 50 minutes. These days, they resort to hoisting their ugly flag in hotel rooms while, the Igbos match on the streets, demanding for freedom. Only the Igbos have challenged the fulani oligarchy in Nigeria. When they did, the rest of Nigerians and her allies declared war on them. Yorubas love their aggressors. Have you seen one Yoruba attacking Fulanis? 1 Like

SuperIgbo1: I think the biggest problem with them they are not united. Did not have a strong leader that is what I have seen in a lot of southwest states. And also the fulanis are creating divide-and-conquer in yoruba territory a good example is kwara state and ilorin. As a yoruba as long as northern nigeria exist nigeria is going nowhere refund or not reformed. The image of nigeria is just stupid its own citizens are preparing to invest in other african countries. The northerners do not want to move forward whatever you do they will drag the other states in nigeria down. Just look at zamfara state they implemented sharia law now they have the highest unemployment in the country look at kano and kaduna they are really not doing well. How the fulanis rule is the make everybody a beggar and cook food for them every friday and saturday while the people are in extreme poverty. They are now trying to do the same with the south west south south and east of nigeria.Them will build a massive mosque and everybody around the mosque are in property or die of hunger. As a yoruba in other big problem is most of them are running away from the country they do not really care about nigeria they prefer to go and build lives in other countries. And the fulanis will be telling them lies that they are going to protect the yoruba people from white people that is some of the brainwashing.

Where did the name 419 originate from? you Nigerians are just Fools, very very foolish? What is inside you people’s head? A clueless Nigerian leader described Nigeria as the giANT of Africa and since then other Africans have never heard any other word another time it was nigeria having the largest GDP in Africa, and they’ve been celebrating since I hope the MUMUs are also celebrating being the country with the largest number of poor people on the planet very dumb, stvpid, certificateless magg0ts who deserve to burn in hell PrinceCharmings: 1 Like |

sufferNsmiling: Religion is dividing Yorubas yet, they would be first to scream that Igbos are not United. Igbos have united themselves in the face of oppression. Same can't be said about Yorubas. Yoruba leaders in 1993, collected money from the federal government and betrayed their kin - Abiola. Anyway, I don't care about Yorubas. They can form their OdourArewanistan republic with the fulanis while, Igbos get their Biafran republic. The north is dragging the rest of Nigeria backward especially, Igbo land. Those folks have a strong penchant for poverty. |

Tanzania and Nigeria - the laggards afraid of free africa trade This is very great initiative. Baby step - hopefully Africa Dev Bank - will finance the building of infrastructure across countries - it should be one day be possible to drive all over Africa - with minimal border dirsuption. You’re our most distinguished alumnus ever' – Buckingham varsity to Ghana Vice president. Bawumia Dr Mahamudu Bawumia with Sir Anthony Seldon, Vice-Chancellor, University of Buckingham The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Buckingham has described Ghana’s Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as “the most distinguished alumnus ever” of the school. Sir Anthony Seldon, who was speaking at the graduation ceremony for the 2019 Humanities and Law graduates of the University on Friday, 22 March 2019, said although Buckingham University had students and alumni drawn from over 81 countries, it was “an honour and a privilege” to have a member of the “wonderful family” as the number two man in one of the greatest countries in Africa and the world. Dr Bawumia graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Economics from the University of Buckingham, Britain’s first independent university, in 1987, and was invited as the Inspirational Speaker for the 2019 graduation ceremony. In a repeat of history, another Ghanaian student of the university, Mr Akwasi Nyame-Baafi, graduated with First Class Honours in Economics in the 2019 batch. “Your Excellency, the Vice-President of Ghana … We are deeply honoured to have you today with us as our Inspirational Speaker, not the least because you are, perhaps, our most distinguished ever alumnus, and we are so so proud to have you back at your alma mater”, Sir Seldon declaimed in his welcome remarks. While the University of Buckingham has always pushed for diversity in faculties and students, with a grounding in acceptance and reverence and respect for every nation, religion or culture, it was particularly gratifying to have one of its own as the Vice-President of a sovereign nation, according to Sir Anthony Seldon. “It is a wonderful family to be part of, and I can’t tell you what an honour (it is to have him here as our Inspirational Speaker). I mean the Vice-President of one of the great countries in Africa and one of the great countries in the world! “We are going to be hearing a lot more of you and of your country in the years to come,” the Buckingham V-C predicted. Addressing the mixed audience of students, families and faculty, Vice President Bawumia encouraged the graduands to nurture and maintain the bonds of friendship formed in the hot crucible of the academic environment, saying such relationships will play a very important role in the successes and failures they may encounter in life outside school. Recalling his own experiences as a student and later as a banker-turned-politician, Dr Bawumia charged the students to see every seeming set back as an opportunity to strive even harder to achieve their goals. Dr Bawumia later inaugurated the University of Buckingham Students of Ghanaian Origin (UBUSOGO) association, a body bringing together current students and alumni of the university.
