I deal with data a lot so I know what I am talking about. Let me first tell you Nigeria road infrastructure is WORST than Kenya. It's completely broken down. I can only think about Kenya at the end of Moi dictatorship. We had road infrastructure of about 8,000-10,000kms paved roads then. It was completely broken down like Nigeria. Kibaki spent the next 10yrs basically repairing the roads. Nigeria needs to start doing that.

Now let get back to our roads. As of 2013 when this current gov came - we had 11-12K paved road networks. Jubilee has added roughly 1500-2000kms of new roads every year - as of 2018 - we had nearly 19,000kms of paved roads - while annually maintaining more than 6,000kms of roads.

The paved road in Kenya has been growing as much as 30% annually - Yes admittedly it from a very low base. We are spending nearly 2-3B dollars annually on maintaining and extended our road network.

But let not talk about Nigeria PLEASE- because your small budget cannot finance any serious road construction. FIRST TRY TO REHABILIATED YOUR COMPLETELY BROKEN DOWN ROAD NETWORK. But where will you get the money? on average a kilometer of the road will cost your nearly 1M dollars...to extend a road network by 1,000kms--you're talking 1B dollars.

Where will Nigeria that spends more than half of its money paying the debt, that is unable to pay PENSION and borrow to pay salary - GET THE MONEY - BILLIONS of DOLLARS - needed to re-build your completely destroyed road network.

Ichiro Kashitani, president and chief executive officer of Toyota Tsusho Corporation, has announced that the company will start assembling its vehicles in Ghana from August 2020.

Speaking on Thursday during the signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ghanaian government for the establishment of a Toyota and Suzuki assembly plant in the country, Kashitani said the project will last for life.

“We consider the project of the assembly plant a marriage. It lasts for life, and it is a long-term project,” he said.

President Nana Akufo-Addo, however, stated that the signing of the MoU with Toyota Tsusho falls in line with the vision of making Ghana an automotive hub for West Africa and the larger African market.

Yes adding 10-30% more paved record is pretty good.Jubilee I think would have added in 10yrs more roads than the previous gov.I can tell you in say counties where I come...Kericho and Bomet are approaching 1000kms..500kms each of new road albeit low seal.This is true for all counties.We need to copy Ghana and go for huge infrastructure fund...and try get at least 50% of all classified roads paved...like say India or Pakistan.That would require investing roughly 30B dollars to tarmack 30,000kms of new roads.Gov if it sold cash cows like Safaricom,KCB,KAA,KPL,Kengen,Kpa and even part of KRA could easily raise about 15B dollars to kick such an infrastructure deficit fund.

Rwanda beats you in several things, you can't deny that Tanzania is trying to catch up with you. Do you even know how many Nigerians are starving now.You don't have data.Go check hunger data out there and see who is starving.In Kenya we have institutions that regularly collect data, publish such data,the same institutions also quickly disperse money regularly to those hungry.We do the same to every disabled, orphaned or elderly Kenyan - they get a monthly stipend - we have a functional safety net.Nigeria like Tanzanian do not have such info or such systems.Last time a survey found 75% of Tanzanian are sleeping hungry.The gov hunted the firm that made those findings.Scientific research on malnutrition shows Nigeria is even worse....Thank goodness because the UN is feeding 8M Nigerians in IDP camps in Nigerian North East.That leaves another 70m extremely poor Nigerians starving without even anybody knowing...
