Their entire country is sitting on a huge aquifer that can supply the entire East Africa with water for 400 years
But they are dumb and don't even know what a geological survey is used for.

They will be there and Bill Gate come and buy that entire land and lay claim to the Aquifer like he is doing all around the world.

This is important: THE REST OF THE FORWARD CURVE HAS NOT CRASHED. The curve is down but the contract for June delivery is still at $22/barrel and July is at $27/barrel.

The $1/barrel May price may mean that storage is fully contracted but it is not clear yet

The water you're talking about in Turkana is saline and unfit for human consumption. Kenya is doing fine - worry about your commodity dependant economy,

Still consoling yourself. Nigeria's Bonny Light was being flogged for 12 dollars and found no buyers. That 1 dollar if they give you take it - because you'll soon be paying for the consumer to take your oil. Or you might well shut the oil well - and pay huge price to restart operations.

You're now projecting. Kenya has no BOP issues nor is anywhere near bailout. That is Ghana. Kenya's economy is humming along. The cargo plane are flying vegetables, fruits and flowers to Europe. Kenya tea and coffee is being exported. The economy is doing great apart from hotel industry. We didn't go into any copy-paste lockdown.

India is your trading "PARTNER"?? Must be a joke, Tell me Apart from that Crude, what else you can offer to them? Cassava?? Partnership happens among equal ones (Comparing with India or China etc will not place you among them) . And Can you deny the fact that India is your biggest customer?? So if your Biggest customer in in lock down and has almost 75% less demand these days (Not to mention so many cheap purchasing options at his door) will it not effect you?? Isnt a logical question?
Now you said you can make money by selling Petrochemicals, What do you mean? Do you have standard processing capability? No you dont. and Who will buy? Definitely Not Europe (They use EU 4) and Definitely not India as they uses even more strict standard BS 6. Accept it there are so many sellers and almost no buyers at all. BTW Dangote will be worlds largest refiner? Are you dreaming? Forget about India`s and China`s refining capacity, did you even looked at Saudi Refining capacity before even posting this? Wait just 30 days and you will see massive layoffs in your every sector as funding will halt. Telling lies here will not save Nigeria. Answer Logically with facts if you can and if not then do something for your country, Kenya is facing Locust problem and will overcome. Kenya is a country of Human resource not OIl DEPENDENT.

obaaderemi:
Indians are your master,Little Indian. They are our trading partners.
Oil prices will rebound faster than you think. Nigeria can make money from not only oil export but petrochemicals and gas as well. And with our revamped agric sector the only way is up.
When our new refinery which is the largest in the world comes up it would also be a game changer in Africa. Kenya should be more worried as its agriculture output goes down and down due to so many disastrous causes. wink

So you don’t know that we have different types of oil and they are traded differently with divergent prices on the oil market??..Mr self styled economist.

It’s the American oil that’s in trouble which is the WTI not the Brent crude oil...the rest of the oil producing nation from Africa, Middle East all trade using the Brent crude oil as their benchmark and since America oil is of inferior quality most of US consumer have cancelled their May contract with the US and have instead opted for the Brent.

Next time when you read a bad news concerning Nigeria, before you rejoice take your time out and educate yourself on the subject matter.

Doesn’t matter if Kenya is oil dependent or not, you’ll be more affected by the virus than Nigeria.

And also Nigeria is India largest trading partner in AFRICA.

And the dangote refinery is indeed the second largest in the word after the one of India...as a matter of fact the contractor that built the India refinery are also the one in charge of constructing the one in Nigeria.

I know your brain is having difficulty grasping that such a large project can be carried out in Africa, but don’t worry it’s possible.

And we also have the largest fartelizer plant in the whole wide world, it should commence operations in May all things being equal.

Don’t worry in time, maybe in the next 15years maybe Kenya might also initiate such a project on a massive scale, cos as it stands the dangote project is bigger than anything that Kenya as ever conceived since your country was created.

The Dangote refinery and fertilizer plant would have an impact on Nigeria's economy in a big way and even impact on the whole west African subregion. Kenya has no such project. The biggest they have is an overpriced railway that keeps bleeding money. grin
