It is easy to point fingers and blame as many people as possible or you can come up with ideas that would lead to a better outcome. Either way, all i know is when i face adversity i don't want to be surrounded by people who like pointing fingers but solution oriented individuals.

The only thing that makes the country better than Naija is 24 hours electricity.

The Kenya Airways you spoke about is losing money fast, Ethiopia Air is giving them mad competition.

Kenya also has the highest number of slums in Africa. Consider that while Nigeria has Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Ibadan, Onitsha and other major cities, Kenya only has Nairobi and Mombasa which are dominated mostly by foreigners.

In the end, Nigeria remains a stronger country. Let 24 hours electricity enter Naija and watch how things will change.

Back 2012, my company then was contracted to set up a internet link between a Lagos office and its regional office in ghana.
A couple of Kenyans (expertriates they said) were contracted to set up the mail servers. It took a couple of days for the Kenyan guys to arrive. This didn't go down well with my guys as we couldn't leave the site without the mail server completion.

On arrival, these Kenyan guys were all too full of themselves as they complained about everything that had to do with Lagos and Nigeria as a whole.
The traffics, the immigration officers, traffic, food, hotel etc.

Eventually they settled down to do their jobs and along the line they ran into technical issues which we had to come in and rectify as prolonging the project was already affecting their continued stay.
I discovered that the IT director of the parent company here in Nigeria intentionally brought in the Kenyans in order to get paid in dollars and not naira.
This is the irony of my country.

I learnt a lot from that incident. We have a lot to learn from each other but we focus too much on how better we are than the other side. I guess this has been our bane as Africans.

This same attitude you display here gets loads of your countrymen in trouble here. When you walk around with that mindset, nothing appears to be good or worthwhile to you, does it? Some of nigerians living in kenya are giving a good account, but am yet to hear from kenyans living in nigeria(apart from diplomatic or business types ), because they surely don't think it's a place to make moves in one's life.

Our agenda is not to belittle anyone, but to defend ourselves from some of you guys who know little about Africa beyond the next state. They are legion. This is why these guys express shock upon seeing the physical kenya and kenyans, so learn more about other regions of africa. It is sad when some of your countrymen come over and degrade us here as well incl. very pithy insults at us in our own country. Many of your mannerisms and general demeanor cause alot of offense to locals, its time the saying " a chicken in Lagos is a chicken in Borno" be twinned with " an insult in Nairobi is an insult in Lagos " .

As for the group that came to set up your servers, i think they fall into the trap of untraveled persons unaccustomed to basic Dos and donts when out of their native lands, it's all down to upbringing and social exposure of said individuals. And i have seen many a boss even here who tweak the system to earn more than they sweated for, it's a case of ethical indiscipline.

Matters are not helped when prominent nigerians join the fray( this whole beef started as a twitter hashtag to poke fun at each other, just for laughs ) and issue unspeakable insults at us. Not cool, not cool at all.

Fully agree on working on things that mutually benefit us.

Mazee You have only insulted me. You have not presented any facts to prove that Kenya is a better country than Nigeria. I hear by rest my case.

PS: I did say the only thing Kenya has over Nigeria is stable electricity which Kenya Power is losing ground on especially in lower middle class neighborhoods like Buruburu and Donholm, so hate it or love it, both countries cannot be easily compared. Both nations have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Mind you, most of the Nigerians having these arguments are of lower middle class status, I imagine you are of the upper middle class since you have diplomat friends in Naija, so in reality, the people you consider upper middle class in Nairobi are actually lower middle class in Lagos, imagine the disparity. In fact most (not all) of the Nigerians in Kenya are from low income households. How many low income household citizens in your country can afford a travel passport or even afford to travel outside of East Africa for that matter??

Everyone knows Naija is crappy in some places, the intelligent ones among us admit it and find ways to better the situation.
Your problem in Kenya is the endless need for relevance, you are already African, that alone makes you relevant, what is the point of this argument in the first place. I'm working on improving my country by becoming a better citizen, I suggest you do the same.
