There were many reports which talked about SA.Then they talked about Angola. Then they are talking about Nigeria. Again there are reports taking about Ethiopia. We have others now are preaching about Egypt. These are all prophecies which are from men of flesh and blood.The reality is,its too difficult to predict what will happen in any African nation in the next 5 years.That's why all predictions about Angola or SA have proven to be false.
The main issues facing African nations is homegrown troubles.Am talking about home grown terrorism,insecurity,homegrown corruption, tribalism and folks who seek to succession.
Judging by those problems above,it will be hard very hard for naija and Ethiopia to reach a superpower status in our lifetime.

The reason why they talked too much about SA was due to SA biggest GDP at the time.Its no wonder they talk about naija due to GDP of today.That is a stupid way of making predictions basing on just one or two factors( population + current GDP numbers).

Nigeria should start out with absorbing West Africa kicking out the French and revitalizing the region. Then strengthen ties with Central Africa(Cameroon, Chad, both Congos, Gabon, Angola etc). Ethiopia and Eritrea are liabilities they routinely flip flop between Pan Africanism and Anti-Africanisn. They also tend to give the middle finger to the rest of Africa and boot lick Westerners and Arabs when the moment suits them. There a potential future Trojan Horse. Relations with them can remain standard. I'd rather see Tanzania as the primary Eastern allie. Sure closer ties to Egypt can work but not to close same with Morocco and Algeria. I still think we can work w/ Ethiopia & Eritrea. They do have an important history in the continent, and Addis Adaba is still widely regarded as the political capital of Africa. All Ethiopia needs to unlock its potential is access to the sea, which Eritrea has. You can convince the Eritreans that reunification as a federation will allow them to reap the dividends of democracy, and also attract investment to the country, since the ports will be busy

Eritrea is a dictatorship and the leader clearly doesn’t want anything to do with Ethiopia unless they become a democracy and choose a new leader I don’t see Ethiopia getting access to the sea without him dying or being taken out first.
