Honestly the number of projects that Lagos, a sub-national of Nigeria is embarking on should leave the Kenyans too embarrassed to speak. BRT that Lagos state government did almost 14 years ago is what rsvp and co are just celebrating in 2022 grin

Port almost finished, Refinery almost done, light rail progressing nicely, badagry express moving along nicely, fibre optic cables being laid across the state, All this and I haven't even mentioned the bridge in opebi they just started or the lekki road or the rice mill you just mentioned.

Despite all these capital intensive projects record levels of IGR are still being generated every year. Unlike my Kenyan brothers that have to go cap in hand every time to go and beg their Chinese Sugar daddies

Wow, but Samorobo seeing all these things, it makes we wonder why foreigners and a few black Americans still praise Kenya as developed. Is it that they don't also see all these in the other cities? What is your theory?

A few comment on YouTube or random Kenyan imposters on quota shouldn’t deceive you.i fir ince don’t think Nairobi is even developed.I think the few cbd’s and residential areas is decent not developed, and that’s even by East African standard. Outside those de ent areas by East African standard exist a large pool or poverty zoo littered with slum and zero infrastructure.most towns do t even know what a paved road look like or what an electric bulb look like. Let me shock you,did you know kisum they’d supposedly third city got her first traffic light since the inception of Kenya in 2019 and it was celebrated here. And what was even more annoying is that this traffic light wasn’t even up to 5,yes 5, you heard me right.

You agreed with me here that most of Kenya aside Nairobi and a few cities do not have paved roads or electricity. I asked/implied that it seems to be only Nairobi and a few cities that do not look like villages and you agreed with me. I have seen white visitors on Quora praise just Nairobi and also a few (about 3) black Americans praise Nairobi and by extension Kenya to the highest heavens, so I wonder why they only see the sky scrapers and beautiful roads of Nairobi and not look at 3-5 more cities at least. It seems to me there are not more than 5 developed cities/counties in Kenya with paved roads, electricity, banks, malls, etc.
You see some black Americans who visit Ghana and Kenya, fail to talk about the large slums in Nairobi and the development being in just a few cities but they do not shy away from highlighting both the good and bad (in terms of development) when they visit other countries especially West African countries.

Lol nothing in Nairobi is developed,at best decent, and pls don’t get me started on the rest of this chicken coop they call cities, honestly it’s not worth anybody’s time,Atleast not mine- I know better.

First thing first, Kenya has only 4cities: Nairobi, Mombasa, kisumu, and lately Nakuru. Point out the few cities that have roads and leave out the one that has no road for debate.

Kenya has several other towns which are more advance - with proper malls, highways and office spaces. Talk of Eldoret, Kakamega, Thika town, Lamu, Machakos, Nyeri, Bungoma, Kiambu, etc... All these towns are properly developed with highways and neat roads.

Eastern and Northeastern part of Kenya - drought infested regions, where no one is interested in staying, is developing too.

For example, these are highways from nowhere. These areas have no settlement but the quality of road infrastructure is something else.

You opinion is not worth a bucket of warm spit. Nairobi was voted 12th best city to live in by Expat. Now that is something worthwile. 4th most dynamic city. In the WORLD.

Your useless opinion is just an online rant. Provide evidence like some ranking. Not your opinion. Flap your gums endlessly if you must to deal with your envy of Nairobi

More filters...yet Nairobi city is huge construction site - everywhere you look - tall buildings (75 percent of all skyscrapper under construction in Africa), world class roads and name it.

That is why Nairobi is world 4th most dynamic city - competing only with Asian cities similarly growing very fast

Once Nairobi is done with construction - what will you tell people?

cheesy 90% of students failing an exam defeats all attempts at making excuses.
This is for the monkey trying to give a stvpid excuse for mass failure of students in little India:

Some Kenyan officials say the mass
failure resulted from efforts to reduce
cheating. In an interview with Citizen
Television, Education Minister Fred
Matiangi hinted that explanation might
be true. He suggested the results show
the true state of Kenyan education.

"I am very satisfied with the results we
have had in the last two years, 2016 and
2017, because we have lived a lie for
such a long time," Matiangi said. "Time
is here for us now to deal with the
truth.
"

This Kenyan minister of education is wicked. He burst RIP2008 open. grin

Obaboon,
A functional gov doesnt just operate on auto-pilot like NIgeria.
It make deliberate policies and strategies to drive the nation forward
Of course - there were exam leakages, too many kids in universities and all sort of things.
This what changed in 2015 - and this mass failures - is intended to achieve SPECIFIC OBJECTIVIES
The fact remain Kenya education standards are Africa best. When kids are compared on the same exams - Kenya kids excel.
But if we were to just sit on our laurels and be happy - we will become another south africa.
Promising country hobbled by bad education.

If we want to pass kids - we just moderate our exams.

Kenya education standards as much as it best in Africa - is at the bottom of developed world. If we were just satisfied - we would be like Nigeria - Kenya is making progress forward by taking PAINFUL reforms including instituting mass failures.
Now pray when will you institute even the most basic reforms in ANYTHING smiley
Like dealing with millions of kids out of school?

You cannot compare Kenya education in almost all aspect to nearly all sub saharan africa countries. Mauritus and Magreb maybe.

1st thing when I googled Nigeria water access...

Although about 70 per cent of Nigerians are reported to have access to a basic water services, more than half of these water sources are contaminated. And although 73 per cent of the country's population have access to a water source, only nine litres of water on average is available to a Nigerian daily.

For kenya I get this

59% of people in Kenya have access to safe drinking water. 29% of people in Kenya have access to improved sanitation facilities. In 2020, UNICEF certified 1,765 villages as open defecation free. We also provided WASH facilities for over 600 schools in 2020, to help with reopening.

Of course. Nigeria electricity access is 50-60 percent - but we know you'd be lucky to get 4 hours of power in the best part of your city. Installed capacity of 12,000MW but we know peak power production is now less than 2,000MW. So we have to go beyond FAKE NIGERIA STATS.

we have a problem with our transmission infrastructure, we've been tackling it for so long but it collapse whenever it goes past 5000mw/6000mw, and we have over 13,000mw but only able to transmit a bit over 5000mw, it's no longer news-worthy.
