Reports have it that MTN Nigeria has suspended the ambassadorship of a good number of their ambassadors. Apart from their regional ambassadors, Project Fame ambassadors like Iyanya, Praiz and Chidinma, and other ambassadors like Falz, Skales, Tekno and Nkem Owoh, with everyone else has been suspended indefinitely. No one saw that coming.


MTN stated the reason for their action to be that they have no roles for the suspended stars to play at the moment, and wouldn't want to renew their contracts immediately due to that reason. So right now, everything is pending.


Though the telecommunication company clearly stated their reason for the suspension, it is alternatively believed that the main reason for this action may not be unconnected with the fact that the giant telecommunication company is paying over three hundred billion Naira fine to the Nigerian Government for not disconnecting subscribers when they were supposed to. Guess they want to set priorities!


This development is undoubtedly a bad nightmare for the suspended celebrities, especially at a time like this when the state of the economy is really telling on everyone. This could also mean that MTN is going broke and may eventually lose its place in the telecommunications industry if not strategic enough to bounce back.
