Chelsea midfielder Willian took to his Instagram page early this morning to share a heartbreaking inspirational post about his mum who has been suffering from cancer for over two years now.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder shared the photo as he prepared to travel from Brazil to England ahead of the EPL this weekend and described what it feels like to be a famous professional athlete with a mother suffering from cancer.

Willian also made the excellent point that cancer affects many people, “this is the moment that every professional athlete is like the common person.”
