This year 2008 left us a big scar and success in here. But it was a year when bad news was more noticed. There is nothing time can't solve and so we hope 2009 bring us solutions of our problems. Eventhough we Ethiopians welcome our new year on Sunday, It's still going to be a new year for people all around the world since we live in the same planet. We have seen our African brothers and sisters crossing border to live a better life but they even found living impossible sinking and etc. . .We have seen terrorist attacks in the west of Africa, disturbance, too much corruption. Lets all hope 2008 be the last year to show us this. Lets all hope and wish each other the best new year. God bless ET and THE WHOLE AFRICA

When a year ends and a new one begins we must always remember that we live in God’s gift of Mercy; when we live in the world that He has created for us and a new year He has given us, we must grow more spiritually and need to live as His faithful children.

Happy New Year Ednite. Have a wonderful 2009.

I didn't know Ethiopia still used the Julian Calendar of 25BC by the Emperor Augustus.

You are very educated you know? And very Gentle. I know we use Julian Calendar but I don't know Augustus or I have forgotten him, his name is familiar. Anyways, you read lot of books or something? It's not just today but lot of ur post indicates you know many things. Tell me how, wanna be like you

Thank you for the kind words Ednite. You inspire several of us here with your posts too about courage and unity for Africa and AFRICANS.
Yes, I try to read and find out information on various things. It's all due to a desire to keep learning and to keep being aware of what is happening and what has happened in my environment and the world at large.
I believe you know a lot too as I've learnt several from you.

Cheers.
