N500 can cook a decent soup, pepper and tomato are cheap at the moment.
It is very possible to buy pepper+ tomato+onion+grinding for N200 or 250 (depends on your bargaining skills). N50 worth of Palm oil is measured with Goya olive oil bottle, yes there is dried fish worth N100, Ugwu N50, Egusi N50 or 100. Soup is ready.

No fish/meat

No fish/meat

Dried (panla) fish is already there. The soup is perfectly edible that way the way it is.

op were in d world do you live, the most expensive hair cut is like 3oo naira with gen, if nepa bring light it won't even pass 150, And I prepare a very good stew with meat for like 500 naira, by d way I usaully buy seasonings, rice, indomie, beans & all other small household things in large bulks when the year begins costs atleast 69k altogether but it's a good thing since it lasts atleast 1.5 years b4 I do it again. I just hope it won't be above 100k next year due to inflation.

No need for chickens, I own a bird's farm. Things are such cheap in d rural areas it's just baffles me how people just want to live in large cities were even a bag of pure water is almost 200 naira as opposed to the 60-70 naira we enjoy here. Chai north dey sweat woh
. Thats when u have all these things @ur disposal.

To the matter
You can see 10naira onions if you walk very well inside the market into the place habokees are just coming from the farm but it will be very small

You can also see 50 naira Palm oil which is the size of liquid peak milk tin smiley

With mass media you can make serious fame and fortune enlightening folks on how and where to manage their finances and homes in this recession. Great enterprises and industries today were established by broad mindedness idealists in the US and Europe after the second world war when things were hard like Nigeria today, infact much harder.

if u are comparing 10years ago and now, I think its unfair. 10years ago I was an undergraduate and I have worked for some years now I can't expect 500 naira to have the same value.
if ur salary has remain d same after 10years I think u need to find something else

Well it depends on where you live

Where I'm staying currently, to make stew that will last me 3 days will cost 100,
Though I'm only talking about the cost of tomatoes and pepper.

I can't dream of that in the south.
