CHAPTER 9

ASUP ON STRIKE was bold written on the banner in front the school gate. I entered the school and to my department where i saw crowd of students discusing about the strange Strike without notice. Since i wasnt a public person i left them and to sit on a bench near there as our dp block was under locks.
"Hy" sounded a familer voice. I look up,saw convoy of flash white cars.there he stood in front of me. his guards blocking of the much crowd. My face brightened up. i felt wave of joy wash me inside out.


ME: look who's here. The star,wen did you get back.
FANCYlaughing)this morning .
ME: (did this playful frown) well am still mad at you.
FANCY: i know why & am really sorry about it. the music video promo tour and my manager bumping me up with shedule made it imposible for me to have time even for myself.
ME: talking about musical video. Your new video have being disturbing television channels. They can't stop playing it. I havent had the opportunity to watch it but i heard it's fabulous

CHAP 9 UPDATE

FANCY: (laughing) thank God for everything. He's my strength. Anyways what is happening in school to day
ME: this! Just nigeria usual system of education, some weeks lecture and many months strike.
FANCY: strike! Why?
ME: i dont know what they are striking for. we just saw this,this morning.

We look up. The crowd have trippled and it was becoming problematic for the guards to control


FANCY: i should be leaving . Can you please do me the honour of dropping at your home.
ME: nah! am still waiting for my friend she's suposed to meet me here.
FANCY: then we shall wait together.
ME: no you dont have to.

He got up, put his hands on the bench on my both sides with me sitting in between.his face came close to mine i felt his sweet breath on my face,he stared into my eyes,i felt like melting away from his grib and on top that most people from the crowd had pull out there phone and was photographing and filming us giving me the public attention i so much hated.

ME: (looked at the crowd filming us) francis what are you doing. People are looking this way.
FANCY: (squat in front of me,held my palm togther in his) the only way am going to let go is unless you say yes.
ME: are you using blackmail on me now( kept my face down to avoid all this photographers. I couldnt stand this publicity)
FANCY: (he gentle lifted my face by my jaw with his pointer finger, stared into my eyes and smiled) am sorry but if it is what it take for me to know where you live today. You just cant shutting me out we are friends.

They say news travels like whirlwind. The new about the drama in which i and fancy are casts have travelled all over the campus so the crowd have mutiplied four folds.
FANCY' P.A: sir we have to leave now so we dont get any media discredit
FANCY: (he stared at him for a moment the back into my eyes) They can write whatever they wan am not leaving without you.
