adconline:First of, this is not a superiority contest. However, you strike me of someone whose pride has made him the victim of his own intelligence & overbloatedness however knowledgeable you might be. You can not explain in simple terms the contextual meaning of your expression rather you resolve to screenshoting from a dictionary. If i ever needed one i could get one. from the dictionary page you posted, pray tell, how does the word ' jaundiced" concour with " education" in relation to "grammatical blunders " as used by you. Would the synonyms have sounded like; bitter education/ pessimistic education or resentful, skeptical, suspicious education. How does that sound, prof??. Meanwhile, the example as used in the context says" They looked on politicians with a JAUNDICED EYES". In context,to mean, a skeptical, pessimistic , bitter, cynical VIEWS/ SIGHTS, as the case may be. Any periodical, journals etc.. where "jaundiced education" was used in a/any sentence will be appreciated. Do well to furnish me. Meanwhile, we've been back & forth over my observation of yours, yet you're grandstanding about your unseen observation. Whatever i learn, i do so with humility with every bit of sentiment & pride thrown to the basement. while i continue to learn from you or anybody 'if' there is something to learn. i' m quick to admit errors & accept corrections. Generally speaking, most conversations on NL are informal which is acceptable in the studies of English. In anycase, formal perhaps advanced english alike. _PPLE must enjoy themselves! I have been thus far gentlemanly enough to hold my fires.but further attempts to be any rigid could make me go bunkers on you. Talk to me prof. The truth has spoken! |

timeman:For the simple fact that you're unable to find any errors in your post clearly shows how delusional you are. Rule of concord! |

adconline:Wole Soyinka an authority in English was known to have identified errors while give corrections in both local & int'l articles. how much less a beginner like you. I could have far long ignored you but for my appetite for learning esp. when my attention is being drawn. You lost every tiniest respect you could have earned, not that you had any afterall. You keep harping on "rules of concord" but wouldn"t identify where i misapplied it & get it done over with. Coward, running tail in between legs. You can't be any dim-witted, could you? You waste bag academic rag tag!! Kiss the truth! |

timeman:The fact that you are ignorantly immersed in some sort of complex, makes you unamenable to learning or rational debate. I have been able to defend my post, but you on the other hand, have been nasty and bone-headed in your responses. I have nothing to lose by not disclosing your errors to you. Go and re-read your post and tell me if you applied " rules of concord" in your composition. I brought this up because you were attacking somebody's educational qualification. 1 Like |

trenlog: Wrong! That statement was never divisive but those who wish to cause mischief have been deliberately taking a small portion of the president's speech and quoting it out of context to divide Nigerians. I therefore challenge you or anyone to upload the entire transcript of the speech here in ths forum for re-examination to prove the accuracy of such damaging and misleading misinterpretation of the president. |

NiftyViva: Nigerian soldiers fell fighting the useless war Ojukwu instigated only to run to Abidjan and come back later to contest elections in the same Nigeria. Nigeria created the Armed Forces Remembrance Day and statues for Nigeria's fighting heroes. If you need a memorial for all the sheeple deceived by Ojukwu's propaganda, just like Kanu's has killed quite a number, make it yourself. It is not the job description of other Nigerians you fight to make memorials for seccesionists, militants, book haram or herdsmen who are killed while trying to hold the rest of the country back! For normal citizens, absolutely yes - Nigeria should do such duty for them. |

Uhmm! And all his policies are geared towards tearing Nigeria apart. Nigeria has never been so divided like what buhari is doing now. The 5% vs the 95%. |

mekonglobal: Ibos are just too funny and suckers for punishment! The president is afraid of Biafra he walked on, from Defem to Cameroun for 30 months? Do you think walking means strolling for 30 months while eating suya and washing it down with drinks? The army he was leading while fighting for Nigeria are part of those 3 M Ibos permanently in the ground! How many people do you think he saw killed, personally? Maybe hundreds of thousands! And except you're evil, you'd shudder to have to go through this again! Since most Ibos shouting war were not born during the war or have forgotten (being suckers for punishment), I will recommend you watch the movie Hotel Rwanda! That was the killings of just 100 days, now imagine 30 months of seeing 3 M killed!?? Imagine bombs, machine guns and machete being used to kill humans, even if not people you know. Would you ever want to go through that again? Well, it's your choice but don't come back here and cry genocide, no one is going to save you if you cut up your nose to spite your face. |
