Human Papilloma virus is the most common cause of the disease and it is sexually transmitted. Meaning Girls or women who have never been sexually are at virtually NO RISK of the Human papilloma virus(HPV). So it stands to reason that Sexually active women Should be vaccinated against human papilloma virus(HPV). These vaccines can be gotten in specialist hospitals or tertiary health centers in Nigeria for an average price of around 30,000 Naira. If you feel this price is too high or you are currently unable to be vaccinated, you can follow these guidelines to reduce your chances of developing cervical cancer. The vaccine is free in all primary health centers. The only thing is that the health Centre may refer to you a lab to get tested to confirm your status before you can get the vaccine.
