[img]As part of efforts to contribute to the socio economic development of their host community - ORIIRE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, of OYO STATE, the Batch B' 2015 set of Corp members purchased assorted farmer implements that were distributed to the farmers within the Local government in an event held on 8th September, 2016 at the councils secretariat main hall. The farmer implements donated include: a knapsack prayer, 10 big hoes, 10 high quality Ghanaian Crocodile machetes and 10 small hoes. While donating the implements to the farmers, the Local inspector of Oriire LGA Mr Emmanuel Paul Adeyinka praised zeal in this present set of Corp members he has, he encouraged the farmers to put the implements to best use. The Corps Liaison Officer, CLO Corper Lawal Suleiman in his address reiterated the words of the LGI he further added that those present amongst the farmers should ensure the farm implements donated get to the farmers of each community making the local government adding that it only through this the aim of this development programme can be achieved.

It is our hope that this will encourage Corp members in other places to accept the responsibility of community development, which is one of the chief aims of the NYSC programme.
