Abuja - The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has seized the passport of the immediate past Governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema, reports Punch.
Shema is currently being investigated by the commission for misappropriating N75 billion when he was governor of the state between 2007 and 2015.
Shema reported to the EFCC on Friday after being declared wanted by the commission on Wednesday according to News 24.
The anti-graft agency declared the ex-governor wanted following the allegations levelled against him by his successor, Governor Aminu Masari.
After being grilled for several hours, the EFCC gave him bail conditions, including that he tenders his passport and property documents of his sureties which he did.
Although, he met his bail conditions, the anti-graft agency refused to release him.
The former governor would have to wait till Monday before he can be released.
