At least 29 people have been injured in an explosion in a crowded district of New York City on Saturday night, September 17, BBC reports. However, the cause of the blast remains unclear as at the time of filing this report. Traffic congestion due to the explosion Mayor Bill de Blasio described it as “intentional” but said that there were no known links to terror. It was gathered that the force of the blast blew out windows and could be heard several blocks away, as another device, reportedly a pressure cooker rigged with wires, was later found in the same district. The White House said President Barack Obama had been briefed about the explosion. The explosion comes just as President Muhammadu Buhari arrived New York ahead of his participation at 71st Session of the UN General Assembly. Story developing… Naij.com
