World Bank Partners Ogun On Agriculture, Rural Development by ijebuloaded(m): 5:18am On Sep 22, 2016
The World Bank has indicated its interest to partner with the Ogun State Government on rural development and improved agricultural production in the State.

The Country Director of the World Bank, Rachid Bemessaoud, made this known yesterday when he paid a courtesy visit to the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, in his Oke-mosan, Abeokuta office.

Bemessaoud said apart from rural development and agriculture, the bank would also look into areas affecting governance by employing the instrumentality of financial management, through the involvement of its International Finance Corporation (IFC).

According to him “We are in the State in response to a request to help develop its education, agriculture, rural development and investors relations. We will spend a couple of days in the State and we are willing to assist where necessary’’.The World Bank Chief added that the team was highly impressed at the vision and leadership style of the Amosun’s administration.
In his response, Amosun said no State or nation could solely survive without the help of the private sector, saying the State is ready to play its part in the partnership with the emphasis that “If we must get it right, we must be private sector driven.’’
