The surreptitious or covert isolation of Nigeria by many countries is becoming rather palpable. From Ghana to Angola to SA, to Libya, to Kenya, to US, to India, to China, to Austria and others the story is the same. Nigeria is being harangued left, right, and centre by just about any country. What do we do?

Charity begins at home: a serious home-cleansing exercise involving that we stop all peace keeping activities, stop all loan advancement to these neighbouring, yet unfriendly countries, stop all technical aid programs (for e.g., the TAC program), close our boarders against others and even against ourselves (for at least 2 years, in the first instance); start a massive deportation of other nationals in Nigeria (the way Nigerians are being deported back). We are like a clay-footed giant who, instead of helping to secure himself, takes it upon himself to secure others. At the end, owing to the clay-footedness, others whom we have helped to secure undertake to undermine us, leading us to totter and crash like the clay we are.

Same old Nigerian misconception, your problems are more fundamental than that. You have this misconception that you do so much for neighbouring countries which is just not true. Mind you majority of peace keeping activities are partly western sponsored.

Megalomania is the disease some Nigerians suffer from.

I support you 100%. These Western countries which carry out such acts don't do it for free, they make sure the countries which they set out to help have to sign a blank cheque which will be cashed when the situation improves so the USA will never go for a peacekeeping mission in Niger or Somalia or even Rwanda. The best they can do is bomb them from high above in the sky.

Nigeria goes for peacekeeping missions abroad and comes back empty handed but with a smile of satisfaction on our face. That is not what it is about. Look at the situation in Sudan which various Western nations have been fuelling crises there just because they don't want to see China benefit from the resources of Sudan. Today Nigeria is there and calm has gradually return, but all we will go home with is a hug and these Western countries will return to broker deals or else sponsor more violence which Nigeria has to return to quel once more.

This rubbish has to be at an end now.
