Sell it! Exactly what is required Now to get huge dollars to bail out the country. Many of these assets are holes in the pocket of the federal government through which money is being siphoned!. Huge sums are budgeted every year for turn around maintenance of the refineries, but yet they never work, money is just shared. The single airport (MMA2) ran by concessionaire is clearly more efficient than the one, ran by government with power outage daily.! Government is not able to finance the JV companies as they should and surely needs to reduce its cost exposure as bulk of the FGN revenue from the Oil sector is tax anyway. And selling its stake in the companies will have only little effect on its revenue. this because bulk of its budget for JV operations goes into funding corruptions and inefficiencies in the machineries of government. The only one that should really not be sold is the NLNG. This is currently run as and by private sector. It is an incorporated JV and government is a share holder that gets lots of dividend from it. Government revenue from NLNG is from the declared profit as opposed to tax in the upstream companies. 1 Like |

Cutehector:dangote want to take Advantage of us because we are in recession, how can you suggest for us to sale our LNG to you after we award the operational incense to Refinery, after all your monopolization of the some of the product during previous Administration contributed in what we are suffering today. |

Cutehector:my brother infact it bigger than hot soup.i learnt that FG wants to sell this most bastard billioneirs in North and south west so that when the con3 disintegrate the assets sold based on their locations will make the remaining resources to such zone useless. why not sell Ajuokuta steel mill,Nigeria and rail transportation aviation sectors, the National house of assembly, the river ports etc |

The refineries should be sold. They are white elephants. You can't asset strip NLLG as the company is worth more than the assets. Assets stripping booms when the assets are worth more than the company. NNPC should be sold but not now as oil prices are low. If the price should hit $65 or more, a sale will" be a good idea 1 Like |

I beg to disagree here! These three assets are either milking Nigeria dry or not functioning at optimal level for their presence to be felt. In the NLNG market, Nigeria is not really a big player when it comes to supplying other countries ...we have the reserve though but the reserve is not going to be part of the deal or would it? The refineries are just seating duck refining nothing. They're probably outdated and the Niger Deltan won't allow it to thrive so why not sell and allow the buyer manage the crisis? NNPC we all know is just a cash cow being milked by the staff. We all heard same thing when NEPA and NITEL were privatized but today we're almost there. Cutehector: |

NASS Assembly is of no use to us, Dangote is looking for a way to get his filthy finger on our resources, it won't work... Say No to northerncracy |

Jesusloveyou: Xo it is justifiable to sell the country's source of wealth abi? I hope u aint deluded because of this recession of a thing. Even though Nigeria is currently undergoing recession, we are stil not liquidated to the extent of selling the main power house of Nigeria's revenue. We sell the country's right on those company, then the country is at the hand of those so-called polithiefians who will eventually mortgage the future of this country. My opinion: Mid-Privatisation(50-50 ownership by govt & entrepreneurs) should do the magic. |
