Those days you can't woo any girl without writing her a love poem. You can buy a girl all the gifts in the world, but still lose her to a guy that writes/sends her love poems all the time. Naija girls were very romantic then. They cherished romantic dates, poems and visits. They appreciate been given flowers then. Money was never part of romance. Love was the main thing. A lot of guys became poets overnight cos of it. Writing love poems everyday just to win a girl's heart. Those who couldn't write poems begged or paid others to write one for them to send to a girl. Nobody wanted to be left out of the game. Then, we had so many Romeo and Juliet. People who cherished love and could do anything for it. But I don't know if the same can be said of couples (or girls) of today. Don't know if a guy can still win/catch a Naija girl by writing/ sending her love poems, especially in this period of recession?
