I just want to share the fact that Nigerians are making great strides in all facets of human endeavour.

Take the case of this young man Jide Nzelibe who has recently been appointed as a Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, the pre-eminent law school in the US.

He has a very impressive CV, until his recent appointment at Harvard , he has been a Professor of Law at Northwestern
University in Chicago, an assistant Professor at the University of Chicago.

He graduated from Yale Law School and Princeton University. He is the kind of person we need as Nigeria's attorney general or even as a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

I believe he is also involved with the Centre for Law Enforcement Education in Nigeria.

Having an impressive CV does not make one a man of character. The Ojos, Aondakkaa, Fani-kayodes, Chimarokes are living examples.

I congratulate Prof. Nzelibe on his achievements so far. I weep for Nigeria as another brain is drained.

Wonderful,

One very good thing about this post is that, the "tribalists" are confused and cautious, otherwise, some people would have started to show that the guy is, what he is, because of his lineage.

The name of this guys, has set them up. grin grin

They will still comment if they want to.Personally i do not think there is anything 'confusing' about the person's name.

If you stopped at just 'wonderful ' if you had nothing else to add it would have been better than this your veiled attempt at whiping up tribal sentiments. Why do you have to remember a tribal angle if you are not tribal?

Please, the topic says a 'Nigerian' forget the name. We all lay claim to him, he was born in the US if you don't know. He may probably have spent over 95% of his life in the US.

@ asha 80.

Going by the logic of your response.

If Prof Jide Nzelibe is not a Nigerian because he was born in the US, then all children born in the US and elsewhere abroad to Nigerians in diaspora will be classified by you as non- Nigerians.

Please give us a break and be sensible.

She meant He is not a Nigerian in the sense that he probably was never affected much by the Nigerian factor.

Don't mind them. He is only Nigerian in name but American in everything else. Besides, he is not a law professor at Harvard. He came as a visiting professor for just one semester.

Jideofor Nzelibe is from Ihiala in Anambra state. He was born in the US to a Nigerian father and a British mother. The father was a Doctor of Animal science. He had his primary education in his village {Udengwu Primary School} before returning to US till date.

He visits home regularly and speaks his native dialect flawlessly.

Do you know what it takes to be a professor of law at Harvard?

These are the people who tutor, to be senators and presidents.
