All this, is like this becos of our greedy stealling Leaders who will not hesitate to run abroad for treatment that requires just paracetamol tabs. We ordinary Nigerians, as we are called, what do we do to stop these blood drinking Vampire Leaders from running abroad for a paracetamol treatment? Nigeria, a Rich Nation with Armed Robber As Leaders. May Anini and Boko Haram groups chase these Leaders and strip them of all monies owned by ordinary Nigerians that they have stolen. May all the DEITIES in Nigeria Ask, Judge, Humiliate and Punish all Our Leaders.

Bad management is bad management. Everything is not govt, people are given responsibilities based on their competences to run organisations but they wreck it and blame govt.

Stop talking about what you don't know.
The patient is in more danger, from the pictures of the theatre put up above, than the doctor.
Good call food is a right, not a privilege. If I am not allowed outside the hospital during busy call hours, the least I should get is good food (which is being paid for).
Aleppo in wartorn Syria has better hospital facilities.
If you are comfortable with such 'facilities' in a federal teaching hospital in Nigeria, then there is something wrong somewhere.

Una see ba? when nobody in those institutions consider the institution as his own. They are only interested in gulping and saving for themselves. When we say government in Nigeria should sell assets because no private company would allow its staff work in such deplorable conditions people will say what of the masses? how can they afford healthcare? ok, now both masses and the elite cant get the right health care. Make gofment sell am, strengthen NHIS shikenan. corruption? let me see who can drive out corruption from Nigeria.

Too many incompetent nonacademic administrators mismanaging polytechnics and universities in Nigeria.

Having shopping malls like Shoprite on campuses will improve lives in tertiary institutions in the country.

Federal government cannot continue to spoonfeed them.

Many government officials since late 80s have stolen millions of dollars NOT Naira.

If you know how many directors and perm secs with millions of dollars in Nigerian and Swiss bank accounts you will know why the country is such a mess.

Sorry Doctors are Specialist
How can you compare doctors n factory workers? Doctors work 4 about 48 hours straight, n ie if it's just a day call...... some can b on call for 3 days straight. doctors deal with lives, human beings.......hope u won't get angry if u go to the hospital n u r told dt d doctor on call went to the canteen to get food (or doctors shouldn't eat?). Not to talk of d number of years doctors spend in training, or d fees paid!
or is it the numerous sacrifices doctors make.....? U just can't compare

We are not ready yet in 9ja o.

We are not trying at all. From the top to bottom.
Does it mean Federal ministry of health does not inspect these facilities. Or because they do not know any better, they consider these as normal? shocked
UBTH used to be a first rate teaching hospital back then. With very smart mix of local and foreign staff, like Indian nurses back then.

Research done by staff there were of international standard, especially on malaria & infectious diseases, Child & maternal health, etc, some still online till today to see.
I have met elderly foreign medics abroad who still hold UBTH in very high esteem due to its reputation as a leading Nigerian teaching hospital alongside UCH, LUTH, UNTH, Zaria, etc.

Operating on a patient with torchlight n phones when it wld b easier to walk away. Bottom line, d Nigerian doctor gives selfless sacrifice.

My dear, a Dr's call is not frm 6th to 6am. When a Dr is on call, he resumes work by (or b4) 8am & continues till after work d nxt day. Hence, he's likely to av spent abt 34hrs in d hosp (cud be more, depending on d patient load +/- emergencies).
Wen he's on wkend call (depending on d centre/unit), he resumes by 8am on Saturday & closes after work on Monday.

Can u av innovation wtout financial backing as well as a viable environment cum policy?
Is ur $26 of same value in Nigeria as in Cuba?
Can u live on $26 monthly, esp if u're a family man? Is sch fees alone not more than ur $26 even in d cheapest of schs?
D'u know dat d least paid Dr in Australia takes home above $10,000 (over 4M) monthly? & dat wt much better working environment, less duration of work.
U're talking of selfless service wen som r wasting tax-payers' money to d tune of millions of dollars (wc cuddav be harnessed 2 salvage d ugly situation) to treat jst infections abroad & causing us national embarrassment
