Kudos to the Governor and people of Ebonyi State.

This is a very important News. Ebonyi State is one of the poorest States in Nigeria,and if that State can increase her workers salary,then we can safely say the Economy has started or is starting to look up.

Salaries goes with the current economic indexes. And to those "Incurable Pessimists" here on Nairaland,please for once see something good in Nigeria.

Fayose and Wike should follow this Example.

And to think Bayelsa even with 13% derivation still cannot pay her workers full salaries.

kudos to Ebonyi Governor. But let everyone know that a graduate in Ebonyi civil service receives #27,000 as salary. Now that there is 5% increase, The pay just increased to around #28,250. A graduate in level 08 o! No other allowance o! No promotion allowance. No leave allowance. Nothing Nothing o! Governor Okorocha once told civil servants in his state that if they want him to be paying them Ebonyi type of salary, He will be paying them two times in a month without owing anybody. I rest my case.

Gov Dave umahi e be like sai ehm use state money for MMM way go return em 100% , 30% and 1000 USD. And give them 5%. I dey fill your work akubara-oha 1 of Ebonyi state . with MMM you must not will overcome recession.

2)Is the governor paying minimum wage?


3) How many projects. Has he Commisioned ?

4) Is he elected to pay salaries only?


Aregbe has comissioned more Projects than any south East governors this year even though he is owing.
The infrastructure Been in place can enable civil servants venture into another job for survival

Oyo state may be more developed than, EBONYI state but remember that both states were not created the same year, u would hv compared Ekiti, Zamfara, Bayelsa , Nasarawa ,Gombe with EBONYI,
Know that EBONYI z ahead of most states created same year with her, try n travel and stop getting confined to ur country home, they say travelling z part of education, u need to visit places b4 arguing next time, bc if I tell you, u will not believe

If you go to Nnewi ,most of d automobile engineers and factory workers there are Yoruba's..
if you come to Onitsha,most pharmaceutical and drug merchants there are Yorubas...
they are just surplus at Enugu...
And know this ,most igbos don't like salary jobs,they prefer business,where they can decide their profit and take home..
they migrate to places just to cover up d environment in terms of buying and selling...
d business competition in d SE is high and people moves out to conquer other territory in other region...so my friend..,that is d reason you see Igbo's everywhere including d north,south,west and other country..

minus Lagos...I have not heard that Igbo's are been employed in civil service in sW states...
And I have not heard that d opportunities in govt work in d SW is so much that stranger go to take...
d problem with your people is that they believe in govt work I.e salary jobs...that is while they are most hit region in this time of recession...
until your people start moving out to explore hidden opportunities in other region that is when you will understand d meaning of growth...
You people even find it difficult to renovate brown roof historical buildings,not to talk of building new ones or even duplex or mansion...
it is only d few mega rich among you that built nice houses...
but come to d southwast,you will see mansions,duplex and cattle clustered in and around every nook and corners even in d rural areas....
I rejected to work in my uncles wine factory because I hate salary jobs..rather I asked him for a loan to start a business as a graduate..I.e is d mentality of an igboman..most especially d anambarians,we hate salary jobs...
Even d petty traders and gala sellers you ignore and overlook have nice buildings in their place.....
if you go to abia and IMO state and see d ways they due and love business,,you will not believe that they are even among d oil producing states...
aba people will leave business to start dragging for oil.,that is not their mentality..
Enugu indigenes have long forgotten that they have coal...
