Good day my fellow Nigerian students, how is the Independence Day celebration going. Well it’s quite cool here in University of Ibadan as the students rallied around to show respect and loyalty to their great country Nigeria. Even the threat by the terrorist group couldn’t stopped the independence day celebration as the students came out in full mass and unity to appreciate their past leaders who fought for the independence day celebration.
According to many University of Ibadan students they count these threat as senseless and just an attempt to create unnecessary panic. Most of the students as well attribute these high level of security to the Nigerian Police Force. The NPF according to the students did a thorough work on the gate as those searches.
Although majority of the students still think the bomb threat was just a mere noise that shouldn’t be listened to. Although the treat brought great fear to the students and as well joy to some who really thought that the bomb incident would have brought great change to the school in terms of attitude, security and otherwise. Although the bomb threat wasn’t allowed to disturb the academic calendar, lectures and schemes most students believes that the lives of the student should be the number one priority. They argue that the students should be sent home in situations like these to avoid any casualties.They relate it to other threats in UI some years ago.
