It has been 26 years since Liverpool last won the league title; beating Queens Park Rangers 2-1 at Anfield to claim their 18th top-flight championship. Since that Golden era boasting the likes of Ian Rush and John Barnes, Leeds United, Arsenal, Blackburn Rovers, Chelsea, Manchester City and more agonizingly bitter rivals Manchester United (13 times since Liverpool’s triumph) have go on to win England’s elite competition. Kenny Dalglish was manager the last time Liverpool were champions and since then the likes of Gerard Houllier, Roy Hogdson , Rafael Benitez & Brendan Rodgers have all tried to bring back the elusive title Liverpool have won 18 times with the last two managers coming close on two occasions. Even the return of legendary manager Dalglish in 2011 still resulted in agony; they finished a disappointing 8th that led to the dismissal of the Anfield hero.
