How many of you know
The desperation of a blind child?
A massive desperation for illumination.
A single desire for sight,
And an unprecedented urge for enlightenment.
What a cruel twist of fate

A child born blind
Not fortunate to view and cherish the beauty of life.
The blind child in obscurity,
Fighting frantically and incessantly for illumination.
Deprived of His/Her freedom of sight from birth
And lead to live in a chaotic world.
A world where darkness is prevalent in the heart of humans.
A world where the inhabitants may never treat the blind fairly.
A world that ostracized the blind as being unworthy and unproductive.

The blind,
Who is not a prisoner but kept in solitary confinement.
They are made to spend their lives in solitude
Because they don't have what it takes to live freely in the society.
They are the underprivileged ones
Who can't date to dream of mansions and erotic cars.
Their only aspiration is 'I wish'
How I wish I can see.
Everyday, they wake up and nothing seems different.
Everyday is just like everyday.
Being in an abyss of obscurity,
Nothing is interesting and enchanting.
They lived in a bright world
But all the see is darkness
What a pity!

The blind
No one wish to marry
They are labelled as microscopic nuisance
The are surrounded by dreams
Yet they have no vector
Their only obsession is light
Their only aspiration is long lasting illumination
To view the world unending

The blind spectator
Who don't know how a Lagos traffic or Bill Gates look like
They live in an indecipherable conundrum
Not knowing why they are born blind
Some says it genetics
While others think is fate
What did genetics breed a blind child
And why did fate lead them here
This is a question no one has ever answered satisfactory
No one can view the world with complete impartiality
And if anyone could
He would hardly be able to remain alive

The blind
Carriers of ill fate and hewers frustration
Living in an insane and jaundice world
Unconscious of changes in time and universal policies.
They are visually chastised with heavy depression.
Who will make them the president of a country?

The blind
The predictable competitors with a singular and unattainable desire
Who only strives for adaptation
But are crushed and trampled upon
They are seen as losers in a go getter world
They are withdrawn from the society
What an unfair fate in a world that advocate equality
Who will give the blind His/Her inalienable right to sight
The freewill to view things of personal interest

The blind
They are not gluttonous
They are not thieves
They are not fornicators
Yet they are tormented
Why?!
I bet you
The universe is beyond the grasp of any intellect
Why must the blind also strive for heaven
This is a question that I will keep pondering on for eternity
Why are the blind here
