Coronation rites have begun for the next of Oba of Benin in Edo state.

The next in line to be the Oba of benin, Ediaken of Uselu today, journied to climb the tallest palm tree. He was escorted by the people of Uselu as he left Eguae Edaiken (Uselu) for Oredo where he is expected to stop at sacred palm trees (udin) called amamienson-aimiuwa.
