Thank God he is beginning to show is ineptitude of running a democratic government. He makes noise about due process but because of his level of education he acts otherwise. He never had the common sense to deal with situations appropriately. His military mumu style still in his veins and if we vote him the second time he would surprise many with his senseless moves. Students teachers lectures prophets unionism etc would suffer. Nigerians voted for him because of his corrupt stance, he has nothing to offer except that. what we need as a nation is not only that. His ineptitude on economic social and political matters will destroy us all if we are not careful. So,we wait for him to run his time and retire. NBA should let us see what they are made of. Watch all the wailers come out in this thread and spout rubbish. Democracy, rule of law, blah blah and yet they will fail to condemn the criminal judges for taking bribes. Someone is about to kill you, another comes and saves you by hitting the killer on the head with a stick and he passes out. Instead of you thanking him for saving your life, you say he should have followed due process by calling the police. Some of you are just dumb Sha.

Are u saying its illegal for DSS to fight corruption?
Are there no corrupt judges?
Y would a gov blocked the DSS from searching a house?
Did other state govs blocked the DSS?
Are u saying DSS didnt briefed the judiciary abt dir discoveries?
Y did d NJC recommended just 2 judges fr retirement when there are evidences on others.
So many questions brother.

I have been saying these things
The judiciary arm of government is very corrupt and they are the most protected arm of government.
The worst they get after collecting bribes is retirement and not prosecution.
That's why a corrupt politician will boldly tell you that we should meet in court because he knows how corrupt the judiciary is.
The stupid judge that discharged and acquitted James ibori is probably somewhere in Nigeria enjoying his bribe whereas ibori was sentenced in London.

Don't let us pretend that these judges aren't corrupt because i see most of us have turned to human rights activists now on nairaland.

The truth is the judiciary needs a thorough cleansing which can only be done in a draconian way.
Forget stupid rule of law or due process, yes the NJC is saddled with the responsibility of punishing corrupt judges but please tell me how many judges the NJC have recommended for prosecution despite the fact we know all these judges collect bribes.

Some people are hiding under rule of law and due process to rape us.

People are condemning DSS commando style.. It's like you are new in Nigeria, this is how Nigerian police and law enforcement agencies have been rolling since inception, it's nothing new, or do you think due process is when police collects your phone and starts checking your emails. Or when there is a fight on the streets and police goes to innocent people's house to arrest them.

Please don't let us pretend.. Even in America the FBI Wil carry surveillance on suspects before carrying raids on houses so that the suspect won't bury evidence .

The question most of you should be asking is that did the DSS present any search warrant? Which they did. They presented search warrants which is the normal procedure.

What's your business if they didn't invite them to their office in the first place.. It's not your duty to teach them how to do their jobs, most of us don't know that house raids is a constitutional thing .
If they don't raid how then will they get evidence?

Please they should raid any judge's house that surveillance has shown to be suspicious.

For once other judges Will think twice before collecting bribes.
You are probably a kid and have far limited knowledge about the complexity of humanity. If you give anybody such a privilege to arrest, bungle or imprison without due process, it is just a matter of time you will make him a monster. Buhari is already known with bigotry, imagine if left unchecked what will become of his personal enemies. The due process you hear about is the only thing that can tame someone like Buhari.

I feel like weeping for my fellow Nigerians.
We've been crying over high rate of corruption for years under theives as leaders.
Buhari came to our aid but nigerians are still complaining! What a country!
Dont blame Buhari until the judges were able to defend themselves which, in this case, they cannot.
People are busy embezzling our money, yet some fools are busy defending them free of charge.
We claim to be religious but we have forgotten that we automatically become sinner by supporting a sin act.
Many well-known good people will end up in hell for supporting criminals who dont even them let alone share the stolen wealth with them.
Infact, those theifs wont regret ending up in hell coz they've enjoyed the world but you that ddnt benefit from the stollen fund will regret ur life.
If u think every comments u made are just internet thing, u are deceiving yourself. God keep records of all our deed.
And thats why i dont rush to give support for acts like this until they were able to defend themselves.

In 2015,some moronic Nigerians decided to hand over their destiny to a complete ediot and this is the result. What's even more disturbing,is the fact that some brainless people are in support of this action;when did the DSS swap job descriptions with the EFCC? How can any sane person with a good mental faculty and reasoning ability, support the breaking in and damaging of a person's property, just to arrest the person? When the person is not a terrorist, and did not resist arrest? What kind of stupidity is this? Who are the people who gave birth to the supporters of this animalistic behaviour? For crying out loud, these judges could have been arrested without towing this disgracing and embarrassing path. Now,Nigeria looks like a zoo and a wildlife conservation to the entire world. It's a shame that in 2016,govt agencies saddled with the job of intelligence gathering and national security, have been reduced to motor park touts/vandals and the worst part of it all,is that there are still ediots in support of this show of shame.
Na wa for you oh. So you pity their destroyed properties? Try and pity the people these corrupt judges have robbed of justice due to bribe Na. Nigerians like you are the reason we aren't moving forward. I pray you get into a court case with a rich politician.

I think you are the kid here because you don't understand the meaning of due process, you are just saying it. .

Firstly the DSS put on surveillance on some judges, investigated them, put together evidences against them and it was sent to the appropriate quarters I.e. NJC...... is that not due process?

Now the NJC instead of them to recommend some of the judges for prosecution, they shielded them and only asked them to be retired.

Now ask yourself this question why haven't the NJC being following due process by recommending judges that subvert justice by collecting bribes to be prosecuted instead of shielding their colleagues?

Or is bribe taking no more a criminal offence?

Please endeavor to use your brain next time when commenting on issues like this

Nigerians are so amazing when it comes to politics. an average Nigerian quickly join the mob that lynch a common criminal on the street accused of theft. nobody will ever talk about due process when such thing happen. in fact, the suspect would have been long gone before police appear in the scene.

the judiciary which we all know are the ones who foster, aid and abets corruption all over the places is scrutinize and everyone is screaming due process. we know this is Nigeria, due process doesn't work here. they tried it in the past and it never worked. so, if the FG is using any drastic measure to prosecute, indict and convict the corrupt judges in question, I am fine by it.

It is pathetic that our judiciary have no say in a country who proud themselves as democratically incline nation. After waking up to news of abduction of judges by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerians have taken to Twitter to denounce what they call Gestapo-style arrests without following due process.

Most of the blame has gone directly to Pres. Muhammadu Buhari whose office is operationally in charge of the DSS. One voice coming loud, clear, and strong is that of the Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Chidi Odinkalu, who has called the simultaneous sting operation across half a dozen states as “intimidation of the judiciary”.

See tweets from the NHRC boss below…

Wike the thug and killer in Rivers state leaves his house at 1am in the morning to go and "protect the rule of law" like he put it and people seriously believe him? According to the account I read in the Punch, search warrants were produced for all the judges homes that were searched. Wike obstructed the DSS from executing a valid search warrant because he knew they would find the money he used to bribe Justice Liman. He knew they wouldn't be able to arrest him because he's a governor.
