Falana SAN was never a bar man, he is an avant garde. So am not surprised at his position. I don't know how many judges he, a senior lawyer, has exposed so far since he started practice. Now he is blaming the NBA. But from his press release, he chose not to mention on the legality of the raid. That alone should tell us he supports the illegality, all in the name of fighting corruption yet unproved. |

Fighting corruption agreed but the following questions need to be answered: 1. Is this arrest not for selfish interest? 2. Are they the only corrupt lawyers or judges? |

Show me any country in the world that can boast of absolute democracy without form if tyranny or dictatorship. Most of you guys here scream dictatorship as if there are no two face to it. There is benevolent dictatorship which most democratic states imbibe...giving their leader some semblance of absolute power to make things work Look at philippino leader how he is dealing a death blow to drug peddling despite international outcry...he even called it bluf with UN sec gen and threatened to leave the union. Get this right there is no gentleman or due process in tackling our kind of corruption. What the DSS did has also be fine by FBI to judges in the US. Nigerians scream blue murder when judges, for lesser crime like stealing sentence the ordinary man to long prison term with hard labour, but the looters whose antecedents in public offices caused our hardship are given a part in back judgement. Have you forgotten our judiciary found no case against James ibori only for a magistrate court to find him guilty in and he has been a guest of her majesty Government. What about Cecilia ibru, Lucky Igbinedion, also the pension thief? We need to become monsters even vampires to destroy these evil men who are epitome of corruption. Sometimes rule of law is a clog in the wheel of justice. saint047: 3 Likes |

talktonase: A lot of judges collect bribe in both cash and kind. There's nothing sad about a corrupt judge being made a scape goat . If we can rid our judiciary of corrupt elements, Nigeria will move forward. But then again, is the govt really interested in ridding the judiciary of corrupt elements or just some SPECIFIC corrupt elements to serve their selfish purposes? Anyway, this will keep everyone on their toes and others will try to make judgements based on facts and not on money exchanged as power may change hands at any point in time. |

If i may ask, at the expense of who? DIRTY MONEY IS CRIMINAL the law does not favor it, THE LAW IS BLIND AND SO CANNOT EVEN PROTECT ITS ENFORCERS, ESPECIALLY WHEN HER NANNY IS A CRAZY AND RUTHLESS FOLKS LIKE BABA 1 Like |

It takes a fearless heart to stand up against ur primary constituent...dats wat Falana in my opinion just displayed. He did noted dat for d records, these judges have been invited by both ICPC and EFCC instead of honouring d invitation, they run to FHC seeking interlocutory injunctions to stop their arrest, investigation and prosecution. My concern here is we all cry for a great Nigeria, we must also understand that such wish will not come on a platter of gold. Somethings are better gotten by force. In the words of Peter Obi, Let's join hands to take back our nation from these greedy few. Just want to make common sense. 1 Like |

DSS has done the right thing, A judge last two weeks give a final judgement on my case. A three bedroom flat some one is claiming that the property belongs to him and is a four bedrooms flat. The said judge when on visitation and saw three bedrooms but he said what he saw their is four rooms he included Kitchen as bedroom which has two doors one from the dinning and the other from the back. He use this and rolled the case against me. God will continue punishing them until they repented. 1 Like |

When I watched the NBA chairman spoke on this matter yesterday on Channels TV, I felt sorry for NBA. Because this same New NBA chairman who seeks to remove the prosecutorial powers of the EFCC is nothing but an agent planted by the looters and working for the looters. He speaks as if he has lost focus from the essence of the legal profession. He was talking of something that this can not happen in a democratic setting; when even the best democracy (U.S.A), cable news reported that the same raid on corrupt judges happened thrice in 3 years... 1 Like |

So our learned men have turned themselves to legal thieves ! Where then lies their intelligence.? Using their progression to deceive the masses & the Govt. Didn't they know that ,they are creating room for anarchy through their direct collaboration with corrupt elements in the society . We shall see the end of this hue & cry from the body of benchers. |

It's time we back the gov't to degrade corruption; else it degrades us (actually it has degraded us); else it completely eliminates us. Call Buhari out when the action is not enough against corruption; not backing corrupt individuals out of hatred for Buhari -- you lose. |

maasoap: The way it is accorded to the famous people, is the same way it is to be accorded to the poor, and that's what we should strive for. And to ur question, legality is what propels many action, which if not in place, would have reduced all to animal. You may not like the way we tout it about, but its the foundation of our existence as a nation, all the legal framework of this country is built on it. If Mr. A becomes president after 2019 and chose to fight corruption in a strange manner different from what we have previously, on what benchmark do we then judge him? Let us keep to the rules for the benefit of posterity. |

Vaxt:If the DSS are carrying surveillance on the suspected corrupt judges, which is nice, when are they going to carry similar raids on the. court "REGISTRIES" which is a pit of corruption Some members are richer than the "JUDGES&LAWYERS " who had gone through the furnace of professional training to achieve their status Most of these members of the staff registries are of less education &living arrogantly big! Is that the way it a continue? |
