Noise Over DSS Arrest Of Judges by Zplus: 2:40pm On Oct 10, 2016 |
DSS arrest of judges to investigate alleged crime of bribery and money laundering, some Nigerians are shouting. Are those shouting saying that judges are above the law? Are judges immune to arrest, investigation and prosecution? The Nigeria Bar Association appears to be a major problem to Nigeria's progress. Lawyers go to courts to fight for d freedom of looters and criminals. Can't our lawyers place patriotism above business interest? If alleged corrupt judges can't be investigated, why should other Nigerians be investigated? Are we telling President Buhari to stop the war against corruption and leave Nigeria to continue to bleed? It seems to me that Nigerians don't seem to agree on how to rescue the nation from the jugular of corruption. If we fail to use the opportunity of Buhari to fight corruption, it may be diffucult to have a President that will have the moral right and the political will and courage to fight corruption. If we don't want Nigeria dead and buried, the only option we have is to support and encourage Buhari's anti-corruption war no matter whose ox is gored. The cry of political witch hunting is diversionary. If government says a person has looted our treasury, it is just a matter of the person proving that he did not loot. Why the noise? We all want a better Nigeria but most people don't want to allow to be done what is necessary for change to occur. |
