Abeg how dem try am? We are talking development of young talents here o. Dennerby didn't even stay long to try anything. What Randy is doing whether intentional or coincidental is what I envisage for our sports. We don't have the funding for sports so outsource your young talents to where they have the facility and money to develop. Athletics have mastered the hack, next will be basketball. Women's football is where we need the US most cause they have the most robust developmental structure for women's football development in the world.

I just love how our Young Girls are now taking the US College and Spain Laliga Academy route… Great Development!

Imagine our Young CenterBack Oyinlola Olamide wining the Best Player Award in the recent Laliga U19 Tournament in Spain and she’s also the Captain too.. It shows that they’re developing fine, Barca, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla etc will be watching out for them too…

Oyinlola Ball Playing would have also improved a lot as Spain love Ball Playing Defenders… The future is bright but I hope the Big Body NFF will keep the girls together till then… I’m not even sure if Oyinlola, Usani will be given a chance going to the U20 World Cup later this year.!

All these beautiful template but they no dey draft how to maximize am to the fullest? Well i hope this Randy era is maximized well. The athletics own is paying off so so well. Favor Ofili is something else entirely right now (her block start has skyrocketed). Not to mention the others.

I join you to hope.

If any at all, the last WWC game vs England should be the benchmark of Motivation till we breakout.

We got maximum benefit from the athletics from 1984 till 2000.

naptu2:
This race was on my mind when I was on the bridge this morning.

(Yeah, yeah, I know that I've posted this video before).

Nigeria was the African power house in the sprints in the 1980s, while Kenya was the power house in the long distance races, so obviously they would clash in the middle distance races.

This was the 1987 All African Games in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. It was the final of the 4x400m relay for women. Nigeria had 3 excellent 400 metres specialists; Maria Usifo, Falilat Ogunkoya and Fatimat Yusuf, but who would run the last leg?

I was shocked when I saw the name. I didn't understand what was happening.

Mary Onyali was one of Nigeria's greatest stars in the 100m and 200m and that was her name on the list for the 4x400. Yes, 4x400, not 4x100.

Nigeria led in the first, second and third legs, but the Kenyans were hot on our heels. Then came Mary Onyali. She ran that 400 metres as if she was running 4 100 metres races and the gap between her and the Kenyan kept increasing. Nigeria won gold in the 4x400 metres in Nairobi and the noise in my house was unbelievable. Mary Onyali collapsed at the finish line and Falilat had to try and carry her.

Yea. Wanted to mention Oyinlola in Spain too, was just tired of typing. We have to encourage the girls too to go this route. I understand why making money is priority for most of them, but taking 2 to 3 years to develop properly while getting a degree is a win win on my book.

Pretty sure Flourish Sebastien will have a worthwhile career that she currently does of she went to college in the US. Still rooting for her though.

I will definitely support the Laliga Academy way or College route for them as it gives them more opportunities, while playing College Football you can also play in The USL W League a pre-professional women's soccer league in the United States, Right now after earning a Degree there’s a chance of getting drafted by clubs from the NSWL and USL Super League (16 teams currently) which is a new league that will be operating Starting from mid this year on same level as the NWSL not as 2nd Division..

Europe is also there for them to go, not just going to Europe but top leagues in Europe..!

I'm not sure how the La Liga academy gives them more opportunities though. It's a novel idea still at it's infancy stage. Pretty sure the academy has a limited number of slots per cohort they can't go beyond and of course their primary market is the la liga with Barcelona and Madrid being the dream.

US university route however provides the most opportunities. First you have a long list of college program to choose from. Then like you mentioned, you have the opportunity to be drafted to multiplicities of teams in one of the top leagues on the world. Europe also isn't closed to you particularly if you do well just like we've since with JOE.

The only reason I'll go la liga is just the philosophy behind their football and on the flip side the national team doesn't have one so no point.

Of it's about young players, then Thomas is out of it, But he tried developing the SF,

again he didn't stay long as you rightly said, let's hope Randy will stay long like Clemens

South African referee Akhona Makalima says Banyana Banyana’s performance in recent times has raised the standard of the women’s game in South Africa, and has inspired the next generation of female footballers.

Makalima believes there's a high chance Banyana will maintain the same trajectory as they fight for their spot at the 2024 Paris Games. ''The ladies have really made a positive impact in South African football. The national team is really making us proud and they continue to raise the standard of our football. I do believe they will make us proud tonight,'' said Makalima.

The 34-year-old FIFA official, affectionately known as SheRef, told SABC Sport she is pleased with the fact that the current crop of Banyana players represent different provinces across the country, which speaks to the diversity and unleashing of new talent at national level. We get to see ladies from different provinces being selected for the national team. It is amazing and it speaks to diversity, added Makalima.

Makalima further sent a special message to coach Desiree Ellis and her charges, rallying behind the team she believes have what it takes to make South Africa proud again.

''I just want to wish the ladies all the best ahead of tonight's game, they have made us proud before and I believe they can do it again tonight,'' she concluded.

The pick look good but I will rather have Nicole Payne at Left than her Big Sister, then maybe seat her out if she doesn’t start in Attacking Midfield ahead of Echegini…

I will move Ajibade to the Right Kanu to the Left and remove Babajide bringing her as sub for Kanu and Okoronkwo starting as no.9 that’s my only Changes to your possible line up..

4-2-3-1

Nnadozie

Alozie—Ohale—Ucheibe—Nicole P

Ayinde—Abiodun

Ajibade—Echegini or Toni P— Kanu

Okoronkwo

She might be our most skillful Baller once she come in when the time comes… I like how she faces her opponents whether they’re 2 or 3..! We do need such players that can make things happen themselves especially drawing 3 to 4 players to themselves…

Celine is a technical, dynamic midfielder who can play higher up in the team as an attacking midfielder or sit deeper and play the pivot in a Central midfield role. I look forward to watching her dictate and create the game in Randy possession based style at Pittsburgh. She will be exciting to watch and prove difficult to deal with. She is an excellent addition to the Pitts program…

I mean Again(for Athletics). I grew up watching that set. Was a thriller. Then football followed.

That's why i said i join you to hope. That at least, we get the max of it.

What Onyali did that day was what Omotosho did at at the AAG. She brought back that "until i die" mentality to the relay. 😂😂😂
Only she was doing the heartbreaking overtaking this time around instead of being the lead for last leg.

We prayed for a midfield overhaul. Heaven answered our prayers and gave us overload(Sulola still dey too o)

I hope all the coaches are noticing? If anything funny happens to RW(which we can rule out that probability, however slim), the next manager better get sense and utilize them instead of trying to sideline them. We know their MO too well.

Man, with all these talents springing up all over Europe and the U.S., and the ones that have shone at recent U-20 and U-17 world cups, I will say the Super Falcons would be semifinal contenders at the major global tournaments in the next 4-8 years if these talents are fully integrated and work harmoniously in the team!
