The NCC are very good with possession.. Bay FC are doing their job though but were caught out on the goal they conceded.

I think I would go for the pair of Omagbemi, Akide and Ayisat Yusuf.

This trio would come up good( A Midfielder, Attacker and Defender combo) as Ayisat can double task as a fitness Coach also.

But will the pair of Omagbemi & Akide work as both are big names in the game. Omagbemi have been tested before, she’s a proven Winner and always find a way to win.

None of them should get the job. Like you said in an earlier post, what have they been doing the last couple of years? Asides being former players, in what basis should they be in contention for the job? Like you highlighted, asides the fact that they lack highly in experience, none of them have high level coaching certifications.

The biggest issue for me is tram management. I've seen Ayinla and Mercy Akide talk and they don't come across as people who will effectively manage the team properly (I may be wrong). Omagbemi is the only one I haven't heard talk lately so can't access her.

What's puzzling is there are many African countries who will at least consider giving someone like Mercy Akide and Omagbemi a job based on their playing history alone. Why our old players don't take up jobs elsewhere but wait on the sidelines for the Nigerian national team job with no experience s always puzzling.

The NFF should go get an experienced coach that can manage the team properly. Preferably one who won't mind being resident half the time in Nigeria.

The only way I'll support appointing any of our ex players is if the other option is Justin or Ann.

My problem with them have always been the same, they’re stucked with Coaching at the Youth level. For over 15years now they have been handing the age grade teams over there in US🇺🇸 especially those top3 Florence, Akide and Nkiru Okosieme who were very good players during their playing days. We need them out the Pro level,..

But if NFF can’t get a World Class Foreign Coach, they should go with the Ex-internationals. I don’t want to see anything Justin Madugu & Ann Chiejene.

I agree with you wholeheartedly.

In addition to your points, must the super falcons be coached exclusively by the team's ex-players or career-female football coaches?

I've heard Florence Omagbemi, Ann Chiejine, Mercy Akide-Udoh, Eucharia Uche and Perpetua Nkwocha speak and they do not seem tactically adept, technically astute or inspire confidence. Na so so religiousity, prayer and God dem dey trumpet undecided

If we're going local. I prefer we go for the best hands; a male who is proven and tested in coaching at the senior level and has managed adult teams not kids.

I'll have suggested the NFF Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen but I suspect he'll be at the helms of the Super Eagles for a while and combining that with the role of the Super Falcons coach may be unworkable.

So I'm thinking Fidelis Ilechukwu, Imama Amapakabo or Daniel Ogunmodede would be perfect for the job.

If Herve Rennard with all his experience,, achievements and coaching laurels can be coach of the French National Female team, why should we restrict our most successful national football team to being coached by inexperienced female ex-internationals and B-grade foreign coaches.?

We might as well try our proven coaches in the NPFL.

Sorry to ask what did Herve Renard win with the star stunded French team? You think Coaching the female team is same as male right? Females and males have extremely different thought processes and brains which adds even more differentiation to the uniqueness of individual players. So you can’t just bring someone who hasn’t been around the Women’s game to take over especially a big team like the SuperFalcons that’s tankful... ( Coach Kadiri Ikenna tried it before and Failed with the SuperFalcons in 2012) I’m not in support of that..!

If they can’t get a Top & World Class Foreign Coach in the Women’s game, they should go for either Florence Omagbemi or Mercy Akide Udoh. They’re the biggest and best Ex-internationals who are Coaches that we can rely upon..

Hmmm…. isn’t something fishy there??

Houston Dash no go kill me o, anyway good for her versatility at least won’t keep her away from the Starting 11

She’s currently playing Left Wing Back for Houston Dash against Washington Spirit.. second game in a role.

While the family fundamentals may be largely the same, coaching in the men and women's game is very different. That one is successful with men's football doesn't necessarily mean one will with women. They are two different terrain with different applications. Like Deltamani rightly pointed out, Renard didn't exactly do much with the french women's team.

Also, getting a coach without experience with women's football at this stage will be at best a gamble. The NFF just needs to go for a professional.

Baba, football is essentially football whether male or female.

The coaches who won laurels with the falcons were able to do so because of the gulf in quality between our players and those of other african countries due to the head-start advantage we had in female football development.

Now the other African countries; SA, Morocco, Ghana, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Zambia etc have closed the gap with regard to players quality by constituting women leagues and recruiting dual-citizenship players which has made matches more competitive.

So what will make the difference and keep the Falcons at the top will be top-class coaching, and these coaches are not the coaches in the NWPL Neither are they the teams ex-internationals like Florence Omagbemi, Eucharia Uche, Ann Chiejene or Mercy Akide-Udoh, all whom I consider to be vapid tactic-wise with their obsolete formations.

That's why I advocate for the any of the 3 coaches I mentioned earlier who I consider to be the best locally.
