FOR SHORT GUYS: HOW TO DRESS TO LOOK TALLER.

It’s no doubt that having an attractive height can help a lot with your confidence but nature may not be fair to us all as some people are, well, “down to earth”, nevermind, I’ll show you some tips to improve your overall look and appear taller than you really are.

Let’s get taller!

1 ) Wear Vertical stripes
One easy way to create an illusion of a taller appearance is to wear clothings with long standing lines as this gives an impression of more length to your actual height. For example, when you wear a vertically striped shirt, an observer sees more length on your torso. You would definitely want to incorporate vertically striped pieces into your wardrobe when next you go shopping.

2) Opt for a Mono-shade

Wearing an entire outfit of one basic colour gives a taller silhouette, for example, when you wear a dark suit, with an inner dark shirt and a dark trousers, an observer seeing this dark shade from shoulder to torso to thighs, down to the feet, will get the impression of a taller frame.

3) Get a Sole!
How many of you know that famous actor ,Tom Cruise, is only 5’7″ but in the movie, ‘Knight and Day’, where he starred with Cameron Diaz, 5’10”, the pair stood next to each other, shoulder to shoulder! How did they accomplish this? Easy, give Tom the sole, give Cameron the flats!
It’s a no-brainer that a pair of shoes with a thick sole (and heel) can instantly add several inches to your height but do you know that there’s also something called an “inner sole”? An inner sole is implanted INSIDE the shoes, this way, a regular 2-inches heeled shoe has an additional 1.5-inches sole padded inside. You can get a shoe-maker to customize one for you, this is a secret known only to celebrities (Shh!)

4) Hats Off!

A very short person wearing a hat can somehow look like a 35cl coke bottle with the crown on top, for this reason, I wouldn’t recommend a hat, however, wearing a hat gives a more mature look which is something a short person would want (they don’t want to be mistaken for a child) -so between not looking short and looking mature, make your pick.

Bonus Tip: When taking pictures, be wary of the object you stand next to, so you don’t sell yourself short (pun intended) For example, posting a photo of you standing next to a water dispenser when your head isn’t up to the bottle or posing next to a flower pot where the highest leaf is taller than you just sends a message that you are indeed, very short. And most certainly, don’t post a photo of you standing next to your pet that for some odd reason, happens to be taller than you, like our dear Osita Iheme, posing next to his giant dog.

Two things came to mind- it’s either this dog is an actual horse or Osita is having a reversal growth to toddler height!
