Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara State has directed the state’s Ministry of Lands and Survey to demolish all illegal structures along the Bello Bara’u -GRA Road in Gusau.
The governor gave the directive yesterday in Gusau, while inspecting projects being executed in the state capital.

Yari warned that the state government would not allow anyone to erect structures along the road after it had paid compensation for the removal of illegal structures.
“I see no reason why people should build their houses or shops on lands over which government has paid compensation to make way for a road project. We are executing these projects for the betterment of our people; that is why we use their resources to pay owners of the affected houses”, he said.
He accused officials of the ministries of works, lands, surveys and housing of complicity, saying that they were responsible for the erection of the illegal structures. (NAN)
