Terrorist sect, Boko Haramhas burnt down a village near Chibok in Borno State where more than 200 girls were abducted in 2014.

The terrorists are said to have set fire to Goptari, which is 10 kilometres from Chibok, late on Tuesday, October 18, according to AFP.

“They attacked the village around 8:00 pm (1900GMT), firing heavy guns which made people flee into the bush,”Samson Bulus, a resident of nearby Kautikeri village, told AFP.

“The Boko Haram raiders looted homes and shops, taking along food supplies and livestock before burningthe entire village,”he added.

“The Boko Haram fighters overpowered the soldiers andseized a van with a machine gun mounted on the deck from the soldiers,”another resident, Luka Damina said.

When they are just technically defeated why not? Besides after releasing their hostages they got back their commanders.
