Bribery Allegation: PDP Calls For Amaechi's Resignation by Upritman(m): 7:02pm On Oct 21, 2016 |
The Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has expressed joy at the confessions by some Judges against a former governor of the state now minister of transportation, Rt.Hon.Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. Reacting to the recent accusations by Justices Inyang Okoro and Sylvester Ngwuta against Amaechi, the publicity secretary of the PDP in Rivers State, Samuel Nwanosike said the party in the state has been justified about its argument that the former governor allegedly misappropriated state funds. Nwanosike who exonerated the Judges of any wrong doing further said there is a moral burden on President Muhammadu Buhari to prosecute all those mentioned in the statements of the two Supreme Court Justices. He urged President Buhari to convince them that He was serious in His anti-corruption war by looking back at all the petitions against Rotimi Amaechi and order a high power investigation into the issues raised against the former governor including the latest from two Justices of the Supreme Court. He also called for the resignation of AMAECHI as the Minister of Transportation, adding that his resignation will give room for proper investigation of the allegations. Recall that the Transportation Minister had denied all the corruption allegations against him saying its part of a grand plot to defame him and destroy him politically.
