This is a very good move but it won't change much. The ONLY thing that can change ppl's thinking is to videotape these kidnappers being sentenced to death and showing them being executed on TV. It will sure psychologically change people's thinking when we can all vividly see the end result of kidnapping.

Our people at the aim of affair are just after money, the house suppose to make sure booth terrorist and kidnapers are place on instance death sentence by hanging, because they booth kills, a lot of kidnapped people are use for rituals.

a crime is negligible compared to the reward,
criminals will never be deterred.
Only death sentence can make kidnappers have
a rethink.

My 1cent to Lagos state government is "Don't pass what you can not carry out" it's only going to bring lack of trust and disrespect in the rules of law by the larger society.
If Lagos is ready to be strict about the law, then good and fine...

Please read my post again. No matter how harsh a law, it is useless if levels of apprehension is low. Singapore has very high apprehension and clear up rates for crime.

Nigeria has the death penalty for armed robbery but it's still common because many believe they will not be caught. The only reason why armed robbery nosedived on Lagos was because of the presence of policemen everywhere which deters criminals has it makes a getaway more unlikely.

kudos to Lagos state government, being tough on miscreants is da only language the bad guys understand..
