Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Federal High Court, has taken over the case filed by the Nigerian government against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.Justice Nyako who is one of the four wives of the former governor of Adamawa state Vice Admiral Murtala Nyako. It will be recalled that in 2008 the saidJudge was in a fierce tussle with the other three of the wives on who becomes the First Lady of the state.Kanu’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, made this known to newsmen on Friday.IPOB have earlier cried a foul play over the development considering the manner with which the former judge handling the case John Tsoho stepped down and owing to the fact that Justice Nyako is fromRemewa Katsina State.The judge in her first action dramatically proved the speculations of IPOB right when she fixed Tuesday, November 8, for hearing on a motion for bail filed by Kanu.The new date however conflicts with an expected Judgement before the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Court earlier filed by Nnamdi Kanu against the Federal Government of Nigeria.But the defendant’s lawyer said his team will work outways to attend to both cases.“My team will have to find a way to attend to both cases,” Ejiofor said.
