The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has lamented what it termed the lopsided recruitments, recently made into the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna.

Director of the organisation, Prof. Ishaq Akintola in a statement on Monday claimed that the figures listed, particularly for states with Muslim majority population, revealed shocking lopsidedness in the recruitments, as contained in the list of successful candidates in the 65th Regular intake.

He said the list showed that more Christians were picked in Muslim majority states in the North, citing examples including where only five Muslims were picked in Borno state as against eight Christians, only four Muslims picked in Gombe as against ten Christians, while only three Muslims were picked in Kaduna State as against eleven Christians.
“MURIC considers these figures as lopsided, discriminatory and provocative. The exercise appears to have been heavily tainted with religious bias calculated to edge out Nigerian Muslims from military formations in the country.

“It gives undue military advantage to Christians thereby endangering the lives and properties of Muslims nationwide. We frown upon recruitment exercises which fail to recognize the diversity of the Nigerian people.

“NDA is an elitist military institution whose graduates control the military. This MURIC body have really been a nuisance I tend to wonder how this slowpoke became a Prof.& who awarded him same.He is always championing useless causes.Where was MURIC when the President was doing his selective Muslim appointments? Since inception,the NDA have been bias as the highest cadet intake is always tilted towards the predominantly core north Muslims.Only few northern Christian minorities whose names have arabic/Islamic intonations easily make the list.Here we are now again with this fanatic group whipping up religious sentiments.What really do we want in Nigeria? To always sacrifice ethnic,regional, religious,mediocrity or sentiments for merits? This is the type of system that gave Nigeria a clueless & certificateless illiterate president that have dragged us back to the premedivial times.What a country.

Maybe because the appointments to Boko Haram Academy is already loop sided in their favor since Christians are without representation there. Alai ni ironu agbaya radarada.

They should have better asked for a disintegration so that they would have a new nation to themselves where the soldiers are all Muslims

The useless MURIC would never complain if it was other way round, ever since they have been releasing NDA lists, Kwara state representatives in NDA are often majorly muslim in fact most times all muslim. The CAN never made any noise about endangering the lives of christian in that state. Our military should be merit driven to avoid mediocres in that important formation. MURIC can go and Die. Nonsense.

They should even be the ones championing the cause for separation rather than insisting on fake unity of one-upmanship where some are constantly favoured to the detriment of others.

If we truly check that list we will see that muslims cummulatively are majority but because muslims always want more and more and more, they will cite isolated cases to give the issue a colour they want.
