It does not go unnoticed when a mole or two invades your luscious lawn and fine kept a vegetable garden though it is not likely to see on above the ground since the small creatures tend to build burrows into the landscape, hills and ruts, devastating its condition, making it unsuitable for further seed harvesting.
Moles are precisely 2 inches long including the tail and are usually gray or brown in color. The mammal is distinctive and a mole hole can be recognized on any meadow or landscape from a distance away.
You probably must have come across several methods of mole control for your yard and most of them must not have worked.
Managing moles is not always a necessary thing to do as they are not very fond of eating plants. The tunnels, however, are a big problem. They harm the roots of plants making the field unsuitable for further vegetation. Here are some of the most effective strategies applied to keep your lawns mole-free in the summer:

Build Traps
Trapping is one of the most common and effective ways of eliminating moles from your garden and vegetation field. Place traps all over the landscape early spring when you notice the first mole tunnel. Tunnels can also be seen during the first rainfall of the monsoon season. You would eventually find out which mole-hole is the most active before you can set appropriate traps. Make sure to mark the location and flatten the ground surrounding the tunnel. If the tunnel is raised from its surface in a few days’ time then your trap has worked.

The Round Worms: Nematodes
Moles usually feed on insects such as the Japanese beetle grubs that live in the soil. One method of effective mole control could be the use of nematodes. Nematodes are round worms that the moles can feed on. The ‘Spikes of Death’ lawn Aerator Sandals and Milky Spore are a few of them that can be used to eliminate moles or at least decrease the tunneling activity. Even after your soil healthy, moles would still prefer to feed on the nematodes.

Castor Oil Repellents
Natural castor oil repellents are effective in controlling moles and keeping them away from vegetative lawns and other gardening areas. The time for mole-hole appearance starts from early spring. So if you see a surface of land raised up an inch of two, make sure you have your castor oil repellents at hand!

Dig Deep Barriers
You could always go simply by digging a trench and blocking certain mole pathways with rocks.

Install Ultrasonic Devices
Anything to drive the underground critters berserk? Install an ultrasonic device such as the Sonic Mole Chaser which is going to drive the moles crazy with the piercing noise and make them move to quieter areas and away from your garden,

Moles are cute animals. But sometimes there are too many in your garden. To expel them, you can use the repellents. There are two categories of repellents : natural and electronic. The natural repellents work by taste and smell aversion and generally consist of the following ingredients: eucalyptus, mint, and castor oils.
The effectiveness of the electronic device depends on the type of soil. If you have clay soil then the ultrasonic device will work well, however, if you have dry soil the ultrasound waves cannot travel as easily. See here for more details.
