GOOD PEOPLE OF EDO STATE GOOD DAY PLEASE I WANT TO USE THIS PLATFORM AND MEDIUM TO BEG ALL EDOLITES TO PLEASE HELP US (AAU STUDENTS) BEG COMRADE ADAMS OSHIOMOLE AND AAU EKPOMA MANAGEMENT TO PLEASE REDUCE OUR SCHOOL FEES TO WHAT OTHER OLD STUDENTS ARE PAYING. BEFORE WE GOT ADMISSION_LETTER FROM JAMB LAST SESSION SCHOOL FEES WAS NOT ABOVE N50,000 NAIRA AND ACCEPTANCE FEE WAS NOT ABOVE N50,000 TOO. ONLY GOD KNOW WHAT MADE THE COMRADE GOVERNOR TO INCREASE THOSE FEES BY OVER 200% TO N170,000 AND LOWEST FEE N98,500 AND ACCEPTANCE FEE ROSE TO N70,000 AND N63,000 MINIMUM... WE WHERE MADE TO KNOW IN OUR SCHOOL PORTAL THAT THE FEE WAS ONLY DUE FOR FIRST YEAR AND FROM SECOND YEAR WE WOULD BE PAYING WHAT OTHERS ARE PAYING N47,000 AND N35,500 MINIMUM CHARGES, ONLY FOR US TO RESUME NOW AND ITS BEEN SPECULATING AROUND CAMPUS THAT WE ARE TO STILL PAY OVER THE N100,000 + SCHOOL FEES EVEN IN THIS HARD ECONOMY RECESSION.. THE COMRADE GOVERNOR SAID LAST YEAR WHEN COMMISSIONING BUILDINGS IN AAU COLLEGE THAT "EDUCATION IS NOT FOR THE POOR" I STAND TO BE CORRECTED IF HES NOT PART OF THE FREE EDUCATION SCHEMES IN THE 70s AND 80s HOW WOULD HE DARE TO SAY PARENTS SPEND MILLIONS TO CELEBRATE MARRIAGES, BURIAL CEREMONY AND BIRTHDAY PARTIES AND CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY OVER 200K FOR SCHOOL FEES. I STAND TO BE CORRECTED THAT NOT ONE PERSON IN THE MIDDLE CLASS OR AN AVERAGE NIGERIA CAN SPEND MUCH IN CELEBRATION MOST OF THOSE EVENTS ARE ORGANISED BY FAMILY MEMBERS. NOW HE BHUILT A UNIVERSITY IN IYAMO WHICH ONLY THE ELITES CAN AFFORD FOR THEIR KIDS AND LEFT AMBROSE ALLI UNIVERSITY EKPOMA IN COMATOSE WITH INADEQUATE INFRASTRUCTURES AND GOOD MANAGEMENT. I DONT GET TO UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WANT A MAJORITY OF EDOLITES TO WITHDRAW FROM SCHOOL AND GO INTO THE STREETS. OUR IMMEDIATE SENIOR COLLEAGUE'S ARE PAYING N40,000 + AND THEY WANT US TO BE PAYING OVER N100,000 + WHEN WE HAVE THE SAME LECTURERS TEACHING US AND WE ARE MANAGING THE SAME INFRASTRUCTURES THAT IS NOT ADEQUATE FOR LEARNING. MEETING WITH THE NEW DEAN OF STUDENTS HE MADE US TO KNOW THAT LECTURERS ARE BEING OWED 4MONTHS SALARIES, MY TAKE IS WHEN STUDENTS WERE PAYING N40,000 +. OVER THE YEARS THEY NEVER OWE A SINGLE LECTURER HOW COME WHEN OVER 8000 STUDENTS PAYED OVER N100,000 LAST SESSION MANAGEMENT IS NOW OWING. NOW WE ARE TOLD THAT WE DONT HAVE A RIGHT TO PEACEFUL PROTEST AGAINST THE SCHOOL MANAGEMENT, THAT ANYONE INVOLVED IN A PROTEST WOULD BE DEALT WITH. MY PLEA IS THAT EDOLITES SHOULD PLEASE BEG THIS OUT GOING GOVERNMENT TO BE CONSIDERATE IN THIS HARD ECONOMY TO ALLOW US PAY WHAT OTHER SENIOR COLLEAGUE'S ARE PAYING AS OVER 75% ARE YET TO COMPLETE LAST SESSION PAYMENT TILL DATE. PLEASE HELP EDOLITES GO TO SCHOOL, OUR FUTURE IS NOT CERTAIN WITHOUT INFLUENCE AFTER GOING THROUGH THE HUDDLES OF A UNIVERSITY SYSTEM IN NIGERIA YET THEY STILL WANT TO MAKE IT UNAFFORDABLE...... HELP THE YOUTH OF EDO STATE. #MDO #ReduceOurFees #ambrosealliuniversity |
